Lois Pulley, 87

Lois Marie Pulley, 87, of Columbia City, died at 3:25 p.m. Tuesday, July 3, 2012, at her residence. Born April 15, 1925, in Columbia City, she was the daughter of Clarence David and Hulda M. (Anderson) Leininger.
She graduated from Columbia City High School with the class of 1943. On Dec. 24, 1946, she married Homer LeRoy Pulley in Columbia City.
She lived most of her lifetime in the Columbia City area where she served as the secretary of the Whitley County Welfare Department for 35 years. She was an avid reader and attended all sporting events for all her children.

William Mathias, 76

William R. Mathias, 76, of Columbia City, died at 7:01 p.m. Monday, July 2, 2012, at his home.
He was born Jan. 10, 1936, in Columbia City a son of John R. and Marjory A. (Howenstine) Mathias.
His formative years were spent in Larwill. He graduated from Larwill High School.
On Oct. 31, 2002, he married Deborah K. Monnier. They have always made their home in Columbia City.
He was employed at Precision Plastics, retiring in the late 1980s.
His memberships include Eagles #1906.

Marian Bollinger, 99

Marian Emelyn Bollinger, 99, retired South Whitley librarian, died at 6:25 p.m. Tuesday, July 3, 2012, at Timbercrest Healthcare in North Manchester where she had been a resident since 2007.
She was born Jan. 1, 1913, in South Whitley, a daughter of Clarence O. and Leola B. (Faudree) Enos. Her formative years were spent in South Whitley. She graduated from South Whitley High School in 1930.
On June 23, 1934, she was united in marriage to William B. Bollinger. They made their home in South Whitley. Mr. Bollinger died Feb. 4, 1961.

Sharon Klingenstein

Sharon Klingenstein, 79, devoted wife and best friend of Fred for 59 years, died June 24, 2012.
Her parents were the late Andy and Selma Lowe, former Columbia City residents.
She graduated from Columbia City High School with the class of 1950.
Sharon’s volunteer leadership benefited many of Mt. Sinai Hospital’s programs. A former member of the Board of Central Park Conservancy, she was also actively involved in the U.S. Hospital in Port Chester, New York and the Buick Open Golf Tournament at Westchester Country Club.
