James G. âJimâ Ramey, 86, of LaFontaine, died at 6:15 a.m., Sunday, Sept. 9, 2012, at Millerâs Merry Manor East in Wabash.
He was born Aug. 15, 1926, in Grundy, Va., to Wyatt and Lucy (Stiltner) Ramey.
Jim married Bonnie Pefley on June 24, 1970 in Wabash. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in the 19th field artillery. He worked for 18 years in the coal mines of Virginia, and then worked at Fisher Body in Marion for 27 years, retiring in 1988. He attended Grace Fellowship Church and enjoyed wood working.
Gene Maynard Haskins passed away Sept. 7, 2012.
He is survived by his wife Lyn; his son, Garrick (Kylie) Haskins; granddaughter, Kinsey; daughter, Nicole (Tim) Rische; daughter, Sarah (Matt) Swaim; granddaughter, Grier and grandson, Lance.

Mary Lou Huntley, 58, formerly of Albion, died at 12:11 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2012, at Kosciusko Community Hospital.
She was born March 9, 1954, at Luckey Hospital, Wolf Lake a daughter of Thomas A. and Wilma B. (Cox) Ott.
She is survived by a son and four grandchildren.
The funeral service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City. Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Dan L. Bowman, 56, of Ft. Wayne, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2012.
Mr. Bowman was raised in Columbia City and was the owner of A&W Auto Connection.
He enjoyed golfing and watching sports. âHis laughter and jokes will never be forgotten.â
Surviving relatives include his wife, Kristin DeVittorio; daughter, Cassandra Marie Bowman of Chicago, Ill.; parents, Pat and Dean Bowman of Columbia City; sister, Penny Wright and his four-legged children, Simon and Sadie.
Patricia A. Howard, 79, formerly of Tri Lakes, died at 3:10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 6, 2012, at Renaissance Village, Fort Wayne where she had been a resident for the past 3 Âœ years.
She was born Feb. 5, 1933, in Speedway, a daughter of K. Harold and Mary P. (Phillips) Johnson. As a child, the family moved to South Whitley. She graduated from South Whitley High School.
On Aug. 18, 1951, she was united in marriage to Richard F. âPeteâ Howard. With the exception of one year in Syracuse, they made their home in South Whitley until 1983 when they moved to Tri Lakes. Mr. Howard died Feb. 8, 2009.
Robert J. âBobâ Miller, 87, formerly of Huntington now Rotonda West, Fla., died Aug. 31, 2012.
He was born on April 12, 1925 in South Whitley, the son of Ellis J. Miller and Sarah (Walpole) Miller. Mr. Miller married Jean R. (Schlosser) Miller on June 8, 1947, in Garrett. She preceded him in death on Jan. 29, 2005. He was also preceded in death by his parents and a brother William (Bill) Miller.
Chester âChetâ âBillâ Napier, 80, of Columbia City, died at 11:50 p.m. Monday, Sept. 3, 2012, at Millerâs Merry Manor where he had been a resident since Feb. 24, 2010.
He was born July 25, 1932, in Hazard, Ky., a son of Otis and Florence (Fugate) Napier.
His formative years were spent in Kentucky.
In 1950, he moved to Collins and in 1954 he enlisted in the U.S. Army. He was honorably discharged on Nov. 30, 1962.
He worked for B & O Railroad in Albion, Franke Plating for more than seven years and retired in 1995 from Dana Weatherhead with 28 years of service.
Cecil Crawford Jr., 86, of Loon Lake, died at 6:56 a.m. Tuesday, September 4, 2012, at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne.
He was born on Aug. 19, 1926, in Whitley County, a son of George Cecil and Gladys Fern (Traster) Crawford. His formative years were spent in Whitley County. He completed his education at Coesse High School.
During World War II, he served in the U.S. Navy.
