Lynn Kissinger, 76

October 1, 2012

Lynn E. Kissinger 76, of Columbia City, passed away at 9:25 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 29, 2012, at his residence. He was born on May 13, 1936, in Fort Wayne, the son of Walter Olin and Viola May (Solt) Kissinger.
He spent his childhood in Fort Wayne, graduating from South Side High School with the class 1954. He then earned an Associates Degree at Purdue University.
He served in the U.S. Army from Nov. 17, 1958, and was discharged on Oct. 12, 1960. He was a postal clerk with the United States Postal Service in Fort Wayne for 38 years.

Mark Runyan, 51

Mark Alan Runyan, 51, of Albion, passed away at Visiting Nurse and Hospice Home, Fort Wayne at 10:40 a.m.
Born on October 18, 1960, in Fort Wayne, he was the son of James F. and Mary J. (Albert) Runyan.
He lived in Fort Wayne all of his life until 2004, when he moved to High Lake.
He graduated from Wayne High School with the class of 1980.
He was disabled for many years. He loved his cat Snowball, was an avid fisherman and enjoyed playing cards.

Geraldine Frankle, 93

Geraldine Frankle, 93, of Warsaw, passed away at 3:50 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 27, 2012, at Millers Merry Manor, Warsaw.
On July 17, 1919, she was born in Akron to London and Florence (Bunnell) Imhoff.
She married John Frankle Jan. 6, 1942, in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. John preceded her in June 13, 1985.
She has been a resident of Warsaw since 1948. She graduated from South Bend Beauty School. Geraldine was a piano teacher for more than 50 years, retiring in 1999.

Steven Mort, 50

Steven Wayne Mort, 50, of Pierceton, passed away at 9:59 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2012, at South Bend Memorial Hospital as the result of an automobile accident. He was born on April 6, 1962, in Columbia City, the son of Rex D. and Mary Jane (Tenney) Mort.
He spent his lifetime in the Pierceton area graduating from Whitko High School with the class of 1981, where he excelled in basketball, baseball and football.

Sue Weeks, 70

LaWontta “Sue” Hively Weeks, 70, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2012. Sue was a resident of Claypool where she resided with her husband, Larry Weeks, who survives.
She was born on April 12, 1942, in Wolf Lake, a daughter of Thomas A. and Georgia M. (Kelham) Hively.
She spent her formative years growing up on their dairy farm and enjoying her horse, Buttons.

Monnabell Hambleton, 87

FORT WAYNE— Monnabell Hambleton, 87, formally of Big Lake, died at 9:48 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2012 at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne where she was admitted on Sunday.
She was born Feb. 25, 1925, in Allen County, a daughter of the late Glenn P. and Gladys (Bowsman) Ruby. Her formative years were spent in Allen County.
She graduated from Lafayette Center High School.
On Oct. 30, 1945, she was united in marriage to Max E. Hambleton. They made their home in Roanoke then Waynedale.
In 1952, they moved to Big Lake. In December of 1977, they moved to Fort Wayne.

Susan Wolfe, 56

COLUMBIA CITY ­— Susan L. Wolfe, 56, of Columbia City, passed away peacefully at her home at 5:50 p.m. Friday, Sept. 21, 2012. She had been battling cancer. She was born Oct. 2, 1955, in Luckey Hospital, Wolf Lake, a daughter of the late Emmett G. and Huldah F. (Ramsey) Bowie.
Her formative years were spent in Columbia City. She graduated from Columbia City Joint High School in 1974. She then attended Purdue University.

Opal Sitts, 73

Opal Ilene Sitts, 73, of Columbia City, passed away at 12:40 p.m. Monday, Sept. 24, 2012, at Parkview Whitley Hospital, Columbia City.
Born on December 17, 1938, in Whitley County, she was the daughter of Wayne and Irene Elizabeth (Salesman) Sitts. She was a lifetime resident of Columbia City.
Survivors include sister-in-law, Wanda Sitts of Columbia City and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Faye Wood and brothers, Franklin and George Sitts.

Dale Engle, 91

Dale A. Engle, 91, of Columbia City, passed away at 7:18 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 22, 2012, at his home. Born May 2, 1921, in Washington Township, he was the son of Haskel A. and Esther R. (Piper) Engle.
He attended Washington Grade School in Noble County for eight years and graduated from Wolf Lake High School with the class of 1941.
Dale spent his entire lifetime in Noble and Whitley Counties. His first marriage was to Norma Fowler-Schroeder on Sept. 24, 1950, and his second marriage was to Elizabeth J. Coon on March 10, 1984.
