Jennie V. Weber, 96, North Manchester, died at 1:34 a.m. Friday, Jan. 6, 2012 in Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne.
She was born Oct. 9, 1915, in Landess, to LaMoine and Ruth (McVicker) Pulley).
On April 7, 1934, she married Milan E. Torpy. He died June 13, 1968.
On June 28, 1977, she married George W. Weber. He died September 8, 1981.
COLUMBIA CITY â€” Blanche Louise Nichols, 94, of rural Columbia City, died at 9:15 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2012, at her home.
She was born Feb. 18, 1917, in Thorncreek Township, a daughter of Ray Jennings and Alice Berniece (Lott) Hively.
Her formative years were spent in Thorncreek Township. She graduated from Columbia City High School in 1935.
On June 28, 1935, she was united in marriage to Paul C. Nichols. They made their home in Thorncreek Township until 1939 when they moved to Lorane. Mr. Nichols died Oct. 18, 1952.
COLUMBIA CITY â€” Virginia L. Lusk-Baumgartner, 95, formerly of Columbia City and currently of Fort Wayne, passed away at 7:47 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 31, 2011, at Covington Commons, Fort Wayne.
Born June 1, 1916, in Fort Wayne, she was the daughter of Sylvester and Elsie (Ferguson) Coleman.
She spent her childhood in Fort Wayne and graduated from Elmhurst High School with the class of 1934.
In 1947, she moved to Whitley County and in 1965, moved to Tri-Lakes. In 2001, she moved to her present address at Covington Commons in Fort Wayne.
PIERCETON â€” Paul Eugene Leiter, 62, of rural Pierceton, died at 6:05 p.m. Monday, Jan. 2, 2012, at his home. He had been in failing health.
He was born April 14, 1949, in Warsaw, a son of the late, Cloyce â€śDickâ€ť and Dorothy (Pernesky) Leiter.
His formative years were spent in the Warsaw and Leesburg areas. He graduated from Warsaw High School.
Betty Eileen Stephan, 77, of Huntington, died at 2:35 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 1, 2012, at Peabody Retirement Community in North Manchester.
Betty was born Aug. 26, 1934 in Huntington, the daughter of Emerson and Edith (Quinn) Rittenhouse.
She married Carl L. Stephan on July 14, 1950, in Andrews. He preceded her in death Dec. 11, 1998.
Betty farmed along side her husband in Polk Township, cooked at Kermittâ€™s Food Shop in Andrews and worked in production at General Tire in Wabash.
She played piano and was a member of the Church of the Brethren in Andrews.
Dorothy I. Brockhaus, 87, a resident of Churubusco and widow of Edward Brockhaus, Jr., passed away Friday, Dec. 30, 2011, at 9:55 p.m. at Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne.
She had been a patient there for the past month.
Mrs. Brockhaus was born Jan. 26, 1924, in Defiance, Ohio, a daughter of John and Daisy (Boterf) Lipp.
She spent her formative years in that area and graduated from Sherwood Delaware High School in 1941.
