Melvin F. Schuman, 99, of South Milford, died Monday, Nov. 25, 2013, at his home. Mr. Schuman was born in Larwill Sept. 30, 1914, to Henry and Flossie (Harris) Schuman.
In 1944, he moved to LaGrange County from Columbia City, and Noble County.
Mr. Schuman retired from Monsanto in Ligonier, and had been a farmer and an avid gardener and crafter. He was a former member of LaGrange County Farm Bureau.
On March 15, 1934, in Plymouth, he married Lucy I. Spear. Mrs. Schuman preceded him in death on July 18, 2005.
Michael Allen Wright, 68, of Columbia City, passed away at 7:05 a.m. Monday, Nov. 25, 2013, at Lutheran Hospital of Indiana in Fort Wayne.
Born on June 12, 1945, in Worthington, Minn., he was the son of Gordon G. and Elizabeth L. (Ramert) Wright.
He was born and raised in Minnesota. Mike graduated from Fulda High School in Fulda, Minn. with the Class of 1963.
He entered the U.S. Marines and served from 1963 to 1967 during the Vietnam War.
Mike moved to Columbia City in 1971 and worked at the Indiana Air National Guard from 1972 until retiring as a Senior Master Sgt. in 2001.
Lawrence Dean â€śShortyâ€ť Henney, 81, of Columbia City, passed away at 9:05 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 24, 2013, at Millerâ€™s Merry Manor Inc., Columbia City.
Born June 22, 1932, in Columbia City, he was the son of Clair E. and Bessie M. (Lawrence) Henney.
He was a lifetime resident of Jefferson Township, graduating from Jefferson Center High School.
Rosalie Charlotte Warner, 89, of Columbia City, passed away at 10:02 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 24, 2013, at Parkview Whitley Hospital, Columbia City.
Born on June 23, 1924, in Vevay, she was the daughter of Thomas James and Dora Ellen (Poling) Scroggin.
She lived in Switzerland County (Vevay) then moved to Fort Wayne, in 1984 and moved to Columbia City in 2009. She attended St. Maryâ€™s Vevay Madison Consolidated Schools.
On Sept. 12, 1944, she married Charles Rae Warner in Battlecreek, Mich.
Mark J. Curtis, 54, graduated to glory on Nov. 25, 2013, while at Parkview Regional Medical Center and is now at peace in the presence of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Born Sept. 16, 1959, in Fort Wayne, he was the son of Donald P. Curtis and Charlene D. Adams-Begue.
Mark worked as a drywall craftsman at Hanna Brothers and Hartmanâ€™s for many years. He enjoyed his family, home and friends. He will always be deeply loved by all and will be missed forever.
Clifford J. Perlich, 86, of Avilla, died Sunday, November 24, 2013.
He was born in Noble County Jan. 31, 1927, to the late Lloyd W. and Anna (Schaefer) Perlich.
He served in the U.S. Army from April 1945 to October 1946. He married the late, Betty Ann (Rumsyre) Dec. 24, 1950.
Together they lived 55 years in Churubusco and enjoyed camping from 1970 to 2000 and were members of the Good Sam Club. He was a dairy farmer from 1950 to 1970.
Robert â€śBobâ€ť Twining Taylor, beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, Nov. 18, 2013, at the Homeplace in Burlington, Wash.
Born in Seattle, Wash., Bob lived in Richmond Beach and Seward Park. In his teenage years, his family moved to Milwaukee, Wisc.
He graduated from White Fish Bay High School and then earned a bachelor of arts degree in journalism from the University of Wisconsin at Madison.
Bob was an ardent Wisconsin Badger fan and Green Bay Packer Backer.
