Wanda I. Deininger, 91, a Cleveland Township native, died at 5:47 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 7, 2013, at the home of her daughter, Rita.
She was born January 13, 1922, in Cleveland Township, a daughter of Harry A. and Pauline (Reckard) Lepley.
At the age of four, her family moved to Larwill. She graduated in 1940 from Larwill High School. She moved to Fort Wayne and graduated from the Lutheran Hospital School of Nursing in 1947.
On Sept. 13, 1947, she was united in marriage to Paul J. Deininger. They always made their home in Fort Wayne. Mr. Deininger died Jan. 20, 2013.
Zachariah Joseph Ballard, 28, of Columbia City, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly Friday, Dec. 6, 2013, as a result of an automobile accident at 11:01 p.m. in rural Whitley County.
Born Aug. 23, 1985, in Fort Wayne, to Mart Eugene and Sally Jo (Prough) Ballard.
He was a lifetime resident of Columbia City, graduating from Columbia City High School with the Class of 2004.
Larry E. Ware, 50, of Fort Wayne, passed away Thursday, Dec. 5, 2013, at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne.
Born April 25, 1963, in Fort Wayne, he was the son of Charles R. Ware and Margaret Roeger.
Survivors include his father, Charles (Leota) Ware of Fort Wayne; daughters, Elizabeth (Scotty) Kessler of Columbia City and Samantha Geschwind of Fort Wayne; sisters, Carol Flinn of Fort Wayne and Kathi Young of Fort Wayne; brother, Dan Ware; grandchildren, Dixie Kessler, Chloe Oberley, Lenabella Papenbrock and Corey Papenbrock.
Virginia B. â€śGingerâ€ť Smith, 79, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2013, at 9:42 p.m. in her Winona Lake home.
Ginger was born May 17, 1934, to Harold and Irene (Torell) Bergstrom in Plainfield, NJ.
She was a graduate of Van Wert High School, earned a bachelor of science in education, a masters in guidance and counseling and earned a certification in school psychology.
On June 17, 1958, she and John L. Smith were married in Madison, Wisc. For many years they made their home in the Warsaw-Winona Lake area. He preceded her in death July 26, 1983.
Delois â€śDudeâ€ť Clemons, 86, a resident of Churubusco and widow of Kelly Clemons, passed away at 6:28 p.m. Monday, Dec. 2, 2013 at her residence. Although she had been in declining health, her death was unexpected.
Mrs. Clemons was born in Glomar, Ky. Aug. 20, 1927, a daughter of Matt and Flossie (Kincaid) Fletcher. She spent her early years in Kentucky and moved to Churubusco with her parents in 1942.
On July 6, 1946, she was married to Kelly Clemons, and lived most of her adult life in Churubusco.
