Inez Sickafoose, 94

Inez Sickafoose, 94, a lifelong resident of Cleveland Township, Whitley County, died at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 3, 2013 at Peabody Retirement Community in North Manchester where she had been a resident since March 2011.
She was born May 2, 1918 in Cleveland Township, a daughter of the late Clarence and Vada (Pence) Plattner. She attended Krider Grade School and then graduated from South Whitley High School in 1936.
She was united in marriage to Gale C. Sickafoose Sept. 9, 1939. They made their home on a farm south of South Whitley. Mr. Sickafoose died Dec. 30, 2007.

Wayne Doty, 88

Wayne E. Doty, 88, formerly of Woodburn, died Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at Miller’s Merry Manor, Columbia City. Born in Allen County, he was the son of the late William and Minnie Doty.
He was a member of St. James Lutheran Church, Payne, Ohio. Wayne was a lifelong farmer who enjoyed fishing, playing cards and winters in Florida with his late wife, Doris.

Lena Dorman, 95

Lena L. Dorman, 95, of Marion, passed away Wednesday, March 27, 2013. She was born May 31, 1917, to George Walter and Mary Eldora (Van Dolsen) Fulkerson.
Surviving relatives include four children, nine grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
The funeral was 10:30 a.m. today at Owen-Weilert-Duncan Funeral Home, Marion, with Pastor Matthew Trexler officiating. Mrs. Dorman was interred in Gardens of Memory Cemetery.

Roger Diemer, 50

Roger Allen Diemer, 50, of Columbia City, passed away at 12:16 p.m. Sunday, March 31, 2013. Born December 22, 1962, in Fort Wayne, he was the son of Robert Ray and Sharon Annette (Keller) Diemer.
He graduated from Leo High School with the Class of 1980. Roger lived in Fort Wayne and Columbia City areas his entire life and worked in general construction as a plasterer. In his free time, he enjoyed Harley Davidson motorcycles, fishing and camping.

Bobby Turner, 67

Bobby Ray Turner, 67, of Oklahoma City, Okla., passed away at 7:40 p.m. Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at Warr Acres, Oklahoma City. Born April 30, 1945, in Wolf Lake, he was the son of Robert Turner and Mildred Elizabeth (Fletcher) Turner.
He graduated from Wolf Lake High School with the Class of 1963 and served in the U.S. Army from 1963 to 1966. After moving away from Columbia City, he lived in Georgia and Oklahoma. He was a diesel mechanic in Georgia and Oklahoma for more than 40 years. He was a member of the Church of Christ and Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Gregory Dahms, 65

Gregory W. Dahms, 65, a resident of rural Churubusco, passed away at 5:43 a.m. Sunday, March 31, 2013, at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne. He had been in declining health for some time and had been a patient at the hospital for the past week.
Mr. Dahms was born in Fort Wayne Dec. 12, 1947, a son of Bernard and Agnes (Campbell) Dahms. He spent his formative years at Loon Lake and in Thorncreek Township, and graduated from Columbia City High School in 1966. He retired after more than 40 years with NIPSCO, and had lived most of his adult life at Tri-Lakes and in Smith Township.

Ruth Reid, 85

Ruth C. Reid, of rural Columbia City, died at 3:54 p.m. Friday, March 29, 2013 at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne, where she had been admitted Thursday evening.
She was born June 16, 1927, in Huntington, a daughter of the late Cecil and Jessamine (Tobin) Fosnaugh. Her formative years were spent in the Roanoke area. She attended Roanoke High School.
On Dec. 29, 1944, she married Marquis Junior Reid. They made their home in Richland Township, Whitley County. Mr. Reid died June 28, 2012.
She was a full-time homemaker and assisted on the farm.
