Martha White, 66

Martha A. “Marty” White, 66, of South Whitley, passed away, Wednesday, July 10, 2013. She was born Aug. 2, 1946, in Fort Wayne to the late, Rudolph and Lillie (Buffenbarger) Kyler.
She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Consumer Family Sciences from Purdue University and worked for the Department of Child Services as a Legal Clerk before retiring after 37 years.
She was a long time member of the Ladies Auxiliary at the Fort Wayne Sport Club and enjoyed flowers, owls, amber glass and garage sales.

Guy Wilson, 84

Guy H. Wilson, 84, of Mattawan, Mich.passed away at 2:30 a.m. Thursday, July 11, 2013, at Rose Arbor Hospice Home, Kalamazoo, Mich.
Born June 30, 1929 in Albion, he was the son of Frank C. and Hazel (Owen) Wilson.
He attended Albion High School. On June 14, 1952, he married June E. Rowland in Albuquerque, N.M.
After 22 years of service, he retired from the U.S. Air Force in 1969. A former Indiana resident, he lived in Michigan since 1969. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Shriners, American Legion, Eagles, Kalamazoo Clown Club and Order of Eastern Star.

Nancy Jones, 75

Nancy Suzanne Jones, 75, of Tri Lakes, died Thursday, July 11, 2013, at her home due to natural causes.
She was born Jan. 7, 1938, in Kokomo, a daughter of Daniel Emmett and Mildred Gladys (Smith) Kitchell.
She graduated from Logansport High School, received her Bachelor degree from Indiana University in Bloomington and Masters degree from Ivy Tech.
She married Everett Jones. They made their home in Mishawaka. Mr. Jones died in 1976.

Donald Fowler, 56

Donald Raymond Fowler, 56, of Star City, died Thursday morning, July 11, 2013, at his home. He was born July 1, 1957, in Fort Wayne a son of William E. and Sadie (Miracle) Fowler. His formative years were spent in Columbia City.
He was last employed at Brauns in Winamac.
Surviving relatives include two children, Penny Fowler of Hudson and Donald E. (Amanda) Fowler of Columbia City; four grandchildren, Patrick Ittner, Ashley Ittner, Hailey Jackson and Wesley Fowler; his companion, Karen Brewer of Star City; and Brewer’s sons, Curtis McMunn of Star City and Jeremy Gregson of Gary.

Donald York, 83

Donald Afton York, 83, of Columbia City, passed away at 9:40 a.m. Wednesday, July 10, 2013, at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne. Born Oct. 16, 1929, in Puyallup, Wash., he was the son of Wilmer York and Betty (McGaughy) York.
He graduated from Nashua High School in Montana with the Class of 1947. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. After the war, he moved to Columbia City to marry Marilee J. Heil April 5, 1953. He worked for Blue Bell for 26 years and retired from Essex Wire and Cable in 1992.

Roger Long, 55

Roger A. Long, 55, of Columbia City, passed away at 9:46 p.m. Wednesday, July 10, 2013, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne. Born April 25, 1958, in Columbus, Ohio, he was the son of Junior Long and Rita F. (Jenkins) Long.
Surviving relatives include his five children, sister and 12 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m. with an 11 a.m. funeral service at DeMoney-Grimes Countryside Park Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Dr., Columbia City. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery, 350 S. Ind. 13, Pierceton.

Surviving relatives include his wife, June E. Wilson; son, Guy A. Wilson and daughter, Dawn A. (W. Rodney) Stienagel.
Visitation will be 2-6 p.m. Sunday at DeMoney-Grimes Countryside Park Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Dr., Columbia City. Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. A full obituary will appear in Saturday’s paper.
