Nancy Suzanne Jones, 75, of Tri Lakes, died Thursday, July 11, 2013, at her home due to natural causes.
She was born Jan. 7, 1938, in Kokomo, a daughter of Daniel Emmett and Mildred Gladys (Smith) Kitchell.
She graduated from Logansport High School, received her Bachelor degree from Indiana University in Bloomington and Masters degree from Ivy Tech.
She married Everett Jones. They made their home in Mishawaka. Mr. Jones died in 1976.
Donald Raymond Fowler, 56, of Star City, died Thursday morning, July 11, 2013, at his home. He was born July 1, 1957, in Fort Wayne a son of William E. and Sadie (Miracle) Fowler. His formative years were spent in Columbia City.
He was last employed at Brauns in Winamac.
Surviving relatives include two children, Penny Fowler of Hudson and Donald E. (Amanda) Fowler of Columbia City; four grandchildren, Patrick Ittner, Ashley Ittner, Hailey Jackson and Wesley Fowler; his companion, Karen Brewer of Star City; and Brewerâ€™s sons, Curtis McMunn of Star City and Jeremy Gregson of Gary.
Donald Afton York, 83, of Columbia City, passed away at 9:40 a.m. Wednesday, July 10, 2013, at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne. Born Oct. 16, 1929, in Puyallup, Wash., he was the son of Wilmer York and Betty (McGaughy) York.
He graduated from Nashua High School in Montana with the Class of 1947. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. After the war, he moved to Columbia City to marry Marilee J. Heil April 5, 1953. He worked for Blue Bell for 26 years and retired from Essex Wire and Cable in 1992.
Roger A. Long, 55, of Columbia City, passed away at 9:46 p.m. Wednesday, July 10, 2013, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne. Born April 25, 1958, in Columbus, Ohio, he was the son of Junior Long and Rita F. (Jenkins) Long.
Surviving relatives include his five children, sister and 12 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m. with an 11 a.m. funeral service at DeMoney-Grimes Countryside Park Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Dr., Columbia City. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery, 350 S. Ind. 13, Pierceton.
Guy H. Wilson, 84, of Mattawan, Mich., passed away at 2:30 a.m. Thursday, July 11, 2013, at Rose Arbor Hospice Home, Kalamazoo, Mich.
Surviving relatives include his wife, June E. Wilson; son, Guy A. Wilson and daughter, Dawn A. (W. Rodney) Stienagel.
Visitation will be 2-6 p.m. Sunday at DeMoney-Grimes Countryside Park Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Dr., Columbia City. Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. A full obituary will appear in Saturdayâ€™s paper.
The memorial service for Clive F.G. Dupen, 78, will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City with the family receiving friends after 9 a.m. at the funeral home.
Kathy J. Roberts, 57, of rural South Whitley, went to be with the Lord at 10:21 a.m. Saturday, July 6, 2013, at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne, where she was admitted June 11.
She was born Oct. 11, 1955, in Columbia City a daughter of Richard J. and Marilyn J. (Blain) Bolinger. Her formative years were spent in South Whitley. She graduated from Whitko High School in 1974. On Sept. 22, 2009, she married Wayne A. Roberts. They made their home in rural South Whitley.
Larry L. Goss, 81, of Columbia City, passed away at 3 a.m. on Sunday, July 7, 2013, at his residence.
Born Jan. 14, 1932, in Rochester, he was the son of Raymond and Alma (Rosborg) Goss.
He was born and raised in Rochester and graduated from Rochester Joint High School with the Class of 1951.
After graduation he proudly served in the U.S. Air Force for four years and spent one year in Korea. He was awarded the Good Conduct, the Korean Service, and the United Nations Service Medals for his service.
Teresa Jean Gotz, 56, of Columbia City, passed away at 5:55 p.m. Saturday, July 6, 2013, at Visiting Nurse and Hospice Home in Fort Wayne.
Born Feb. 26, 1957, in Enid, Okla., she was the daughter of Russel B. and Jacqueline June (Spires) Gotz.
She had lived in Whitley and Allen Counties. She graduated from Columbia City High School with the Class of 1975, Manchester College with a bachelor of science in 1981, Parkview Methodist School of Nursing in 1984, and a Masters of Social Work from IUPUI in 1991.
Mary Jane Pressler, 82, of Columbia City, died at 8:05 p.m. Thursday, July 4, 2013, at Parkview Oaks where she had been a resident since 2011.
She was born Oct. 8, 1930, in Thorncreek Township a daughter of Riley Marion and Lola Ellen (Gause) Pressler. Her formative years were spent in Whitley and Noble Counties.
She was employed at Blue Bell, Knitting Mill in Fort Wayne and Weatherhead.
