Harold Kenneth May, Sr., 94, of Bennington, Oklahoma, and formally of rural Churubusco, passed away at 2:33 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 11, 2013, at Texoma Medical Center in Denison, Texas.
Mr. May was born Dec. 3, 1918, in Greenville, S.C., a son of Elzie R.and Nettie (Hames) May. He spent his formative years in Greenville, S.C., and graduated from Clemson Universityâ€™s high school program.
After graduation he served during World War II in the U.S. Army.
He was married to Maxine Winningham and moved to Whitley County from Greenville, S.C. in 1953.
Kristopher Corridan Shepherd, 25, of South Whitley, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2013, at his home.
He was born October 23, 1987 in Warsaw a son of Christopher W. and Kelly L. (Earl) Shepherd. He has always lived in South Whitley. He graduated from Whitko High School in 2006.
He then earned an associate degree in general studies from Ivy Tech.
Since January of 2012, he was employed by Instrumental Machine and Development (IMD) of Warsaw.
An avid Philadelphia Eagles football fan, he also enjoyed picking and playing his fantasy team with his fellow football sports fans.
Robert D. Lysaght, 80, passed away Saturday, Aug. 3, 2013.
He was born July 8, 1933, in St. Joseph, Mo.
He worked as a plant manager at Essex and United Technologies. He served in the U.S. Airforce and was a member of the local American Legion, VFW, and Am Vets.
Penny R. Linn, 50 of Pierceton, passed away at 8:20 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 7, 2013, in Parkview Whitley Hospital, Columbia City.
On Aug. 4, 1963, she was born to Paul and Pat (Lightfoot) Johnston in Warsaw. She was a lifetime resident of Kosciusko County.
Penny was employed at DePuy until 2010 and then she was currently employed with Zimmer Inc. as an Assistant of Regulatory Affairs.
Richard â€ś Richâ€ť F. Taylor, 69, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, Aug. 4, 2013, at the Atwood Campground in Wolcottville.
Born in Cleveland, Ohio, Richard worked in the OEM aftermarket business department with Dana Corp for 43 years.
He was a member of Our Lady of Good Hope Catholic Church. A Graduate of Parma Ohio High School and Kent State University. He enjoyed square dancing, the Saturday morning PBS TV shows, and loved spending time at the lake.
Barbara J. Bloemker nee Denzel, 82, passed away Tuesday, July 30, 2013, at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne.
Born in Fort Wayne, Barbara served more than 30 years as a volunteer and past president of the Parkview White Cross Auxiliary,
She enjoyed crafts, making candy and baked goods to share with others.
