Beatrice V. Linvill, 98, a lifelong resident of Whitley County, died at 7:05 p.m. Monday, July 1, 2013, at Parkview Oaks where she had been a resident since June 11.
She was born Sept. 6, 1914, in Jefferson Township, a daughter of Earl S. and Laura E. (Lower) Kaufman.
She graduated from Jefferson Center High School and was the last living member of the Class of 1932.
On June 12, 1938, she was united in marriage to Lawrence F. Linvill. They made their home in Smith Township. Mr. Linvill died April 1, 1972. In 2000, Beatrice moved into Columbia City.
Clayton Lee Grizzle, 18, of North Manchester, died at 7:08 p.m., Sunday, June 30, 2013, in North Manchester as a result of a tragic car accident.
He was born January 25, 1995, in Wabash to Daniel Clayton and Roberta Lee (Craig) Grizzle.
Clayton was a 2013 graduate of Manchester High School and was planning to attend Universal Technical Institute (UTI) in Chicago in August. He worked at McGuinâ€™s Clean Cut Lawn Maintenence in Huntington.
Willodean Grawcock Hines, 88, a resident of Fort Wayne and a native of Churubusco, passed away at 12:45 a.m. Tuesday, July 2, 2013, at Millerâ€™s Merry Manor in Syracuse. She had been in failing health since May and had entered the nursing home Saturday.
Willodean was born on Aug. 17, 1924, in Churubusco, a daughter of Leslie and Mary Agnes (Spacy) Grawcock.
She spent her formative years there and graduated from Churubusco High School in 1941.
Delores C. Haggenjos, 94, passed away Monday, July 1, 2013, at home surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Fort Wayne, Delores was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, the Rosary Sodality and Daughters of Isabell.
She enjoyed playing cards, reading and spending time with family.
Buanita J. Juillerat, 76, of Elkhart, passed away at 10 p.m. Thursday, June 27, 2013, at Center for Hospice Care of Elkhart.
She was born April 24, 1937, in Churubusco, to Joseph and Mildred (Cripe) Brumbaugh.
She married Russell Juillerat Jan. 5, 1960, in St. Petersburg, Fla. He preceded her in death on March, 15, 1989.
Charles â€śChuckâ€ť F. Pugh, 55, of Fort Wayne, passed away at 3:45 a.m. Sunday, June 30, 2013, at his home. He was born July 29, 1957, in Marion and then moved to Whitley County. In 2001, he moved to Ft. Wayne.
He had worked at Passages in Columbia City from 1991 until May of 2000. He loved listening to classical music and enjoyed joking around and teasing others.
Chuck leaves behind many friends and loving caregivers. He will be deeply missed by all whose lives he touched.
Harold F. Kyler Jr., 82, a lifelong resident of Columbia Township, died at 7:25 p.m. Wednesday, June 26, 2013, at Millerâ€™s Merry Manor where he had been a resident since January 2010.
He was born Nov. 16, 1930 in Whitley County a son of Harold F. and Carrie Jane (Evard) Kyler Sr. He completed his education at Columbia City High School.
On Sept. 14, 1951, he was inducted into the U.S. Army, serving during the Korean War. He was honorably discharged Sept. 13, 1959.
Mabel B. Roebuck, 94, formerly of Columbia City, died at 9:45 p.m. Tuesday, June 25, 2013, at East Lake Nursing & Rehab in Elkhart where she had been a resident since May 1, 2012.
She was born Aug. 24, 1918, in Huntington a daughter of John and Ida (Sell) Voght.
Her formative years were spent in Huntington. She graduated from Clear Creek High School.
In 1935, she was united in marriage to Richard S. Roebuck. They made their home Huntington.
Mr. Roebuck died in October 1972. In 2005, she moved to Columbia City.
Kay L. Kyler, 68, of North Webster Lake, died at 4:50 a.m. Tuesday, June 25, 2013, at her home following an extended battle with cancer.
She was born Feb. 9, 1945, in Fort Wayne the only child of Leon E. â€śBudâ€ť and â€śMary I. (Lenox) Hamman. A native of South Whitley, she graduated from South Whitley High School. She continued her education at Indiana Institute of Technology.
On Nov. 29, 1985, she was united in marriage to Harry M. Kyler. They made their home in rural South Whitley until moving to their home on North Webster Lake 14 years ago.
Bart Taylor Toomey died Sunday, June 9 2013, at Northeast Georgiaâ€™s Medical Center surrounded by family.
Beloved husband, father and grandfather, Bart is survived by his wife, Rita; daughter, Brenda (Steve) Kortekamp; grandchildren, Alex, Nick and Brooke Kortekamp; daughter Carlynne Toomey; grandchildren, Ryan, Kyle and Skye; stepdaughter, Candace (Robert) Cole; grandchildren, Bobby, Connor and Andrew Cole; stepdaughter, Nicole (Kelly) Hall; grandchildren, Kristen, Justin and Sean Hall and sister Marilyn Snyder.
