Iris Rose Cox, 84, of Columbia City, passed away Friday in Columbia City. Born Dec. 13, 1928, in Fort Wayne, she was the daughter of Paris and Hazel (Harmon) Standiford.
She moved to Whitley County in 1948 from Covington Downs in Allen County and resided in both Jefferson and Washington Townships. She graduated from Jefferson Center High School. On Jan. 16, 1949, she married Harold Eugene Cox in Waynedale. She and her husband managed and operated the Cox Family Farm until 1973. From 1973 to May 1991, she worked at Alcoils in Columbia City.
Pauline L. Gibson, 97, a former resident of rural Pierceton, died at 2:15 p.m. Thursday April 4, 2013 at Millerâ€™s Merry Manor, Columbia City where she had been a resident for the past seven years.
She was born June 16, 1915 in Marion County a daughter of the late James H. and Gertrude F. (Teter) Brunner. Her formative years were spent in Marion, Fort Wayne and New Haven. She attended New Haven High School.
Regina M. Hann, 86, of Columbia City, passed away at 4:15 a.m. Thursday, April 4, 2013 at Morristown Manor, Morristown. Born Dec. 28, 1926 in Everett, Pa., she was the daughter of Walter A. and Viola Belle (Twigg) Rice.
William Nathan Harrison, 92, of Fort Wayne, passed away at 11:45 a.m. Thursday, April 4, 2013 at Renaissance Village, Fort Wayne. Born March 31, 1921, in Aboite Township, Allen County, he was the son of William Roy and Ethel N. (Smith) Harrison.
Ted Roger Hare, 80, of Columbia City, passed away at 3:50 a.m. Friday, April 5, 2013 at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne. Born June 16, 1932 in North Manchester, he was the son of Orda Odell and Dorothy Marie (Baker) Hare-Hoover.
Teresa Lyne Levi, 43, of Columbia City, passed away Thursday, April 4, 2013, at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne. Visitation will be from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. with a funeral service at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday at DeMoney-Grimes Countryside Park Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Dr., Columbia City. Marylin A. King, 73, of Columbia City, died at 3:46 p.m. Wednesday, April 3, 2013, at Parkview Whitley Hospital where she was admitted Saturday.
She was born October 24, 1939 in Kosciusko County a daughter of A. Ralph and Opal (Wolfe) King. Her formative years were spent in the Larwill area. She graduated from Larwill High School in 1957. She attended Indiana University, Bloomington.
She began her working career with General Electric, Fort Wayne. Moving to Colorado, she became a journeyman carpenter. She then joined Conoco, Denver, becoming a number one chemist, retiring in 1999.
Lovella â€śLucilleâ€ť Maxwell, 90, of Osgood, passed away Tuesday, April 2, 2013, at the Waters of Clifty Falls in Madison. She was born at Delmar in Pulaski County, Ky. on Nov. 25, 1922 the daughter of Zeno and Clyda Floyd Sharp.
She was married to James Dunagan on Dec. 24, 1940 and he preceded her in death on Sept. 16, 1958. In 1963, she married Harry Maxwell and he preceded her in death on March 1, 1997.
Inez Sickafoose, 94, a lifelong resident of Cleveland Township, Whitley County, died at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 3, 2013 at Peabody Retirement Community in North Manchester where she had been a resident since March 2011.
She was born May 2, 1918 in Cleveland Township, a daughter of the late Clarence and Vada (Pence) Plattner. She attended Krider Grade School and then graduated from South Whitley High School in 1936.
She was united in marriage to Gale C. Sickafoose Sept. 9, 1939. They made their home on a farm south of South Whitley. Mr. Sickafoose died Dec. 30, 2007.
Wayne E. Doty, 88, formerly of Woodburn, died Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at Millerâ€™s Merry Manor, Columbia City. Born in Allen County, he was the son of the late William and Minnie Doty.
He was a member of St. James Lutheran Church, Payne, Ohio. Wayne was a lifelong farmer who enjoyed fishing, playing cards and winters in Florida with his late wife, Doris.
