Esther L. Steinman, 95, of Fort Wayne, passed away Thursday, Jan. 3, 2013.
Born in Berne, Esther was a Nurses Aide at Fort Wayneâs Veteranâs Hospital and worked at AAA Auction.
She attended Trinity Evangelical Church. Surviving relatives include her daughter, Sharon (Max) Goldwood of Columbia City; son, Don (Karen) Stevens of Fort Wayne; sister, Shirley Burke of Colorado; stepsons, Barry, Allen and Ron Steinman; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Sue C. (Ford) Jarvis, age 71, of Columbia City, died Thursday, Jan. 3, 2013, at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne.
Born April 14, 1941, in Albany, she was the daughter of the late Garnet R. and Donna L. (Hammitt) Ford.
She graduated from Arcola High School, Arcola, with the Class of 1959. She retired from Verizon (previously GTE and General Telephone) after 47 years of service. She was a dedicated member of IBEW Local 723.
Richard H. âDickâ Johnson, 81, of South Whitley, died at 5:33 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2013 at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne where he was admitted Monday following a stroke.
He was born Sept. 25, 1931 in Speedway, a son of K. Harold and Mary P. (Phillips) Johnson.
At the age of five, the family moved to South Whitley. He graduated from South Whitley High School in 1949.
Patricia Joy Gates, 80, of Columbia City, passed away Wednesday Jan. 2, 2013, at University Park Health and Rehabilitation Center in Fort Wayne.
She was born Feb. 1, 1932, in Whitley County, to the late Carl and Loretta (Armel) Bridegam.
Patricia graduated from Columbia City High School with the Class of 1950. She retired from Parkview Whitley Hospital where she worked in the cafeteria. She was also a member of the Whitley County Home Demonstration Club and Tri-Lakes Baptist Church.
Helen M. (Deck) Potter, 92, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2013, at The Oaks in Columbia City. She was born Nov. 21, 1920, in Fort Wayne.
Helen was a homemaker that loved caring for her family. She loved playing the piano and singing.
Helen was a member of Salvation Army Church and a life member of the D.A.V. Womenâs Auxiliary.
Howard LeRoy Hinton, 83, of Roanoke, passed away on Wednesday Jan. 2, 2013 at Norwood Nursing Center in Huntington. He was born Aug. 26, 1929, in Fairmount, the son of the late Oral and Estia Marie (Zentemyer) Hinton.
Howard attended Anderson High School and was a World War II veteran who served in the U.S. Marines. He later earned a degree in engineering during his 40 year career with General Motors as a Journeyman/Millwright.
Kimberly Inez Rinehold, 47, of Albion, passed away in her sleep early Monday, Dec. 31, 2012, at her residence.
Born May 3, 1965, in Fort Wayne, she was the daughter of Steven B. and Cathy J. (Langohr) Heaston.
She graduated from Columbia City High School with the Class of 1983. She spent her adult lifetime in Albion and worked for Dexter Axle as a gauge tech, for over 25 years.
On Oct. 26, 1985, she married John A. Rinehold and he passed away in 2008.
Laurel Eugene Taylor, age 84, of Fort Wayne, passed away at 8:36 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2012, at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne.
Born March 2, 1928, in Whitley County, he was the son of Glenn Jewel and Grace Evelyn (Traster) Taylor.
He lived in Whitley and Allen Counties all of his adult lifetime.
He graduated from Jefferson Center High School with the Class of 1945.
He served in the United States Army from 1950-52.
On Sept. 26, 1953, he married Donnabelle âJonnieâ Wagner.
He worked for 29 years at Joslyn Steel, Fort Wayne, and retired from PTG, Columbia City.
Molly Renae Minear, of Warsaw was stillborn at 2:58 am Saturday, Dec. 29, 2012, at Dupont Hospital, Fort Wayne.
She was the daughter of Ross Minear, originally of North Webster and Chantel (Lemon) Minear, originally of Columbia City.
James E. Fancil, 69, of Fort Wayne, passed away at 10:25 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 25, 2012, at his residence. Born on Jan. 6, 1943, in Warsaw, he was the son of Maurice J. and Helen (Hively) Fancil.
Surviving relatives include his two children, a significant other, three siblings, four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at DeMoney-Grimes Countryside Park Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Dr., Columbia City.
Memorial gifts may be given in Mr. Fancilâs memory to the final expense account in care of DeMoney-Grimes Funeral Home.
