Anise B. Dicke, 89, passed away Sunday, Dec. 28, 2014 at Emeritus in Fort Wayne. Born in Columbia City, Anise began her RN career at Lutheran Hospital finishing most of her 48 working years at Parkview Hospital, and retiring in 1994.

Tommy â€śButchâ€ť Lee Smith, 65, of Albion, passed away at 11:30 a.m. Monday, Dec. 29, 2014 at Parkview Noble Hospital, Kendallville, exactly seven years to the day of being diagnosed with cancer. Born in Wolf Lake July 7, 1949, he was the son of Thomas A. and Mildred J. (Waters) Smith.
Butch spent his childhood in Wolf Lake and graduated from Wolf Lake High School with the Class of 1967 and served in the Army National Guard.

Neil T. Shrock, 43, of Waterloo, died Sunday, Dec. 28, 2014 at his residence. He was born Sept. 2, 1971 in Naples, Italy.
Neil enjoyed working at SDI for the past 19 years, but most importantly he valued the friendships that he made with his co-workers. Neil was a fan of the Chicago Bears, Detroit Tigers and enjoyed attending his childrenâ€™s sporting events, concerts and in general spending time with his family.

Deloris F. Frane, 87, of Columbia City, passed away at 6:10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 29, 2014 at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne. Born March 25, 1927 in Auburn, she was the daughter of Glen and Io Evalyn (Bilderback) Stanton.
Deloris married Darwin Frane Dec. 29, 1986 and had worked at L.S. Ayres and Macyâ€™s for over 10 years in Fort Wayne. In 2009, she moved to Columbia City from Fort Wayne. â€śShe was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.â€ť

Lyle G. Hill, 68, of South Whitley, died at 9:14 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 28, 2014 at his home.
He was born Jan. 17, 1946, in Wolf Lake, a son of Earl L. and Aileen M. (Goodrich) Hill. His formative years were spent in Etna Troy Township, Whitley County. He graduated from Columbia City Joint High School in 1965.
On June 1, 1965 he enlisted in the United States Navy, serving during the Vietnam War. He was honorably discharged April 1, 1971.
He was employed at Klingaman Welding & Repair, Waugh Drainage, Moose Lodge and lastly PTG.
Sharon A. Keller Diemer, 76, passed away Friday, Dec. 26, 2014. Born in Fort Wayne, Sharon was a homemaker and loving wife, mother and grandmother.
Survivors include her husband of 57 years, Robert Diemer, of Columbia City; son, William (Dianna) Diemer, of Knoxville, Tenn.; daughters, Debra (Jim) Byerline, of Columbia City, Sondra (Jerry) Hughes, of Fort Wayne and Stephanie Hayes, of Colorado Springs, Colo.; 11 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and brother, Herschel Keller, of Atlanta, Ga.
Sharon was preceded in death by her son, Roger Diemer.

Norma L. Wells, 77, of Columbia City, died at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 25, 2014 at Select Specialty Hospital, Fort Wayne.
She was born June 24, 1937 in Fort Wayne, a daughter of Earl and Marguerite (Unger) Jacobs. Her formative years were spent in Fort Wayne. She graduated from South Side High School.
On April 12, 1957 she was united in marriage to Russell G. Wells at the First Evangelical United Brethren Church. They made their home in Fort Wayne until 1971 when they moved northwest of Columbia City.

Jason Paul Watson, age 36, of Columbia City, passed away at 2:31 a.m., Thursday, Dec. 25, 2014 at his residence. Born Aug. 28, 1978 in Fort Atkinson, Wis., he was the son of Dan and Cheryl (Lilly) Watson.
Jason attended Whitley County schools and graduated from Columbia City High School with the Class of 1998. He attended Columbia City United Methodist Church.
Jason worked in automotive sales and was also proud to be a stay at home dad.
He enjoyed playing poker, watching Green Bay Packers football, traveling to Wisconsin and playing video games.

George W. Atkinson, 78, of Columbia City, passed away at 6:02 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 21, 2014 at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne. Born Nov. 27, 1936 in Coudersport, Pa., he was the son of George â€śWillâ€ť and Violet (Peet) Atkinson.
He graduated from Coudersport High School with the Class of 1954 and served in the U.S. Air Force with time spent in Labrador. In 1961, he received a B.S. in Civil Engineering from Indiana Institute of Technology.

Florence E. Keiser, 102, formerly of Columbia City, died at 7:27 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 18, 2014 at Golden Living Center in Muncie where she had been a resident since March.
She was born Oct. 27, 1912 in Whitley County, a daughter of Elmer Franklin and Dessie Belle (Smith) Schrader. Her formative years were spent in Columbia Township where she had perfect attendance at the Schrader School all eight years.
