David J. Mills, 22, of Columbia City, passed away Friday, Jan. 24, 2014.
Born May 2, 1991, in Fort Wayne, he was the son of Bill R. Mills and Pamela G. (Becker) Mills.
He attended Roanoke Baptist School until 2008 and graduated from Columbia City High School with the Class of 2009.
David received his Bachelorâ€™s Degree from IPFW in business law in May of 2013.
Sherry L. Iholts, 59, of Columbia City, passed away at 1:30 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2014, at her residence, after an extended illness.
Born Oct. 22, 1954, in Fort Wayne, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Martha (Graves) Kessler.
She graduated from Columbia City High School with the Class of 1973 and on March 26, 1983, she married Richard Iholts in Churubusco. She was a lifetime resident of Columbia City.
She worked as a transportation dispatcher at North American Van Lines prior to becoming ill. She enjoyed shopping along with feeding and watching birds.
Robert D. â€śBobâ€ť Martin, 89, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2014, at 12:20 a.m. in Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne.
Born Dec. 27, 1924, he was the son of Charles and Ruth (Steffe) Martin.
A lifelong Kosciusko County resident, Bob was a 1942 graduate of Atwood High School, Atwood.
He served with the U.S. Army in World War II. On Aug. 20, 1948, he and Patricia Harris were joined in marriage.
For 17 years he worked on the Kosciusko County Highway Department where he was a mechanic. He retired in 1990.
Craig Eugene Sherbahn, 61, of South Whitley, died unexpectedly Tuesday morning, Jan. 28, 2014, at his home.
He was born July 19, 1952. He graduated from South Whitley High School and received his bachelor of science in agriculture education in 1974 and Masters of Animal Science degree in 1977 from Purdue University.
In 1985, he began his employment with Farmers Elevator Company, now Ag Plus.
He also assisted his parents with Sherbahn Auctioneer Services.
On April 20, 1986, he was united in marriage to Pamela S. Eberly Nixon.
They have always made their home in South Whitley.
Randall W. â€śRandyâ€ť Scott passed away Jan. 10, 2014, at Millerâ€™s Merry Manor in Columbia City, after a lengthy illness.
He was born Oct. 12, 1953, in Paoli, a son to Cody W. and Lillian M. Kesterson Scott.
He moved to Larwill in 1973, and later moved to Ohio where he worked for Carpenters Amusement.
He was a member of the U.S. National Guard. He enjoyed Nascar, football, action movies, country music, camping and spending time with his family.
Marjorie J. Saffer, 89, formerly of Columbia City, died at 2:15 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 19, 2014, at Hamilton House in Fort Wayne where she had been a resident since January 2010.
She was born Nov. 17, 1924, in Fort Wayne, a daughter of Leon B. and Blanche V. (Layman) Williams. Her formative years were spent in Fort Wayne. She graduated from South Side High School.
Patrick Ryan Wesseler, 31, of Straughn, passed away Saturday, Jan. 25, 2014, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
He was born June 17, 1982, in Richmond, to Jamie and Susan (Singer) Wesseler.
Patrick graduated from Columbia City High School with the class of 2001 and received his bachelors degree in communications from the University of Southern Indiana in 2006.
He was a well known on-air radio personality, most recently as â€śBig Pâ€ť on Evansville radio 103GBF. Patrick enjoyed competing in martial arts, watching movies, and writing stories and screenplays.
Lucille L. Lickey Staples, 97, formerly of Columbia City, died Sunday morning, Jan. 26, 2014, at Munroe Regional Hospital in Ocala, Fla.
She was born Jan. 17, 1917, in Washington Township, a daughter of Harmon and Opal (Miller)Lickey. Lucille graduated from Washington Center High School in 1937.
On March 27, 1938, she was united in marriage to William Donald Staples at the Eberhard Lutheran Church. They always made their home in Columbia City including their summer home at Big Cedar Lake. In 1984, they began spending their winters in Florida. Mr. Staples died April 1, 1988.
Harold E. â€śBussâ€ť Alexander, 82, of rural Columbia City, died at 2:10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 25, 2014, at Parkview Oaks where he was admitted on Nov. 27, 2013.
He was born April 10, 1931, in Whitley County, a son of Harry C. and Beulah B. (Juillerat) Alexander. His formative years were spent in Washington Township. He completed his education at Washington Center High School.
In 1951, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force, serving in Africa and Greenland during the Korean War. He was honorably discharged in 1954 with a Medal of Valor.
Kevin Mark Grant, 60, a resident of South Whitley, died at 7:50 a.m. Monday, Jan. 27, 2014, at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne, where he had been a patient for the past two weeks.
He was born on Jan. 25, 1954, in Battle Creek, Mich. a son of the late Elmer Leon and Elsie May (Edwards) Grant.
