Yolanda Ruyle, 85, of Columbia City, died at 7:23 a.m. Tuesday, June 10, 2014, at Parkview Oaks where she had been a resident since April 2014.
She was born Dec. 24, 1928, in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, a daughter of Nazzareno and Rosina (Cococetta) Milioni. She graduated from Detroit East Commerce High School and Baptist Bible College.
A U.S. Navy Reserve veteran, she served during the Korean War.

James S. Staples, 59, of Columbia City, died at 11:03 a.m. Monday, June 9, 2014, at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne.
He was born March 18, 1955, in Chicago, Ill, a son of James L. and Ida Mae (Mitchell) Staples. In 1973 his family moved to Columbia City from Chicago. He graduated from Columbia City Joint High School.
He was employed at Blue Bell and later as a salesman for Gallo and Baker Lift.
Survivors include his caregivers, Chris and Debbie Birchum.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, David Wayne Staples.
Mildred Remaly Sheets, 91, of Columbia City, passed away at 4:40 a.m. Monday, June 2, 2014, at Millerâ€™s Merry Manor, Columbia City.
Born on April 3, 1923, in Mulberry, she was the daughter of Joseph George and Orpha Ethel (Troxel) Miller.
She lived in Lafayette area much of her life including West Lafayette, Rossville and also in Fort Wayne. She attended school in Rossville and Delphi.
On Aug. 12, 1944, she married Charles E. Remaly at Pyrmont. She worked at Archway Cookies in Fort Wayne and from 1977 to 1988 at Indiana Veteransâ€™ Home.
Mike â€śCarroll Mervinâ€ť Grant, 81, of Wilmington, N.C. passed away Saturday, June 7, 2014, at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.
Mike was born Sept. 6, 1932, in Tunker to the late Fred and Lillie Grant. Upon graduating from Columbia City High School, he enlisted as a U.S. Army Airborne Ranger, where he served his country honorably for 26 years. Mike was a veteran of both the Korean and Vietnam wars and was the recipient of several purple hearts and countless honors and medals. He retired to the Carolina Beach, N.C. area where he resided until his passing.

Rose Pauline Rose, 89, was born Sept. 20, 1924, to Joseph Siemik and Michelena Shewchuk Siemik. Rose passed away May 26, 2014.
Rose is survived by 2 daughters.

Daniel R. Harshman, 76, of San Antonio and formerly of South Whitley, passed away Saturday May 24, 2014, in San Antonio, Texas.Â
Dan was born June 14, 1937, to Wendell and Alice (Stump) Harshman.
On Sept. 5, 1959, he married Mimi Freund who survives in San Antonio.
Dan graduated from South Whitley High School with the Class of 1955. He went on to earn a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University in 1961.

Miriam J. Bishop, 87, a lifelong resident of South Whitley, died at 1:56 p.m. Wednesday, June 4, 2014, in the emergency room at Parkview Whitley Hospital, Columbia City.
She was born March 13, 1927, in South Whitley, a daughter of Claude H. and Ruth L. (Bair) Herr. She graduated from South Whitley High School in 1945.
On March 14, 1947, she was united in marriage to Jack L. Bishop. Mr. Bishop died June 14, 2005.

Sophia Whiteman, 3 days, of Columbia City, went to heaven as she was held by her mother and father Monday, June 2, 2014, at 2:32 a.m. at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne.
She was born May 30, 2014, to Thomas and Sara (Konkle) Whiteman.
Oct. 12, 1922 â€” June 3, 2014
Norma E. Boggs, 91, of Scottsville, N.Y., passed away at 9:17 a.m. Tuesday, June 3, 2014 at Episcopal Church Home, Rochester, N.Y.
Born Oct. 12, 1922, in Allen County, she was the daughter of Earl and Hilda (Frazier) Sprouls.
She lived her entire life in the Churubusco area until 2010 when she decided to move closer to her son Steven.
She graduated from Huntertown High School with the Class of 1940.
