James “Darrell” Clark, 62

James “Darrell” Clark, 62, of Pierceton, passed away Sunday, Oct. 26, 2014 surrounded by his family. Born on June 10, 1952 in Harlan County, Kent., he was the son of Oscar Howard and Grace Ellen (Cody) Clark.
He and his family moved from Kentucky to South Whitley in 1972. He had worked at Dalton, Carey Construction and Star Light in Pierceton. For over 20 years, Darrell worked at Alfe Heat Treat, retired in 2008.

Terry Nicodemus, 63

Terry J. Nicodemus, 63, of Albion, passed away at 11:45 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 26, 2014, at his home.
Born Nov. 8, 1950, in Wawaka, he was the son of Ernest and Mary Lou (Nicodemus) Tucker.
He graduated from Central Noble High School with the Class of 1969. Following high school, Terry served in the U.S. Army.

J.L. “Jack” Hill, 90

J. L. “Jack” Hill, 90, widely acquainted Green Township farmer and a former resident of rural LaOtto, passed away at 8:22 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 26, 2014 at The Oaks in Columbia City. He had been a patient there since Sept. 5.
Mr. Hill was born on June 14, 1924 in Green Township, a son of Lee and Romona (Haney) Hill. On Nov. 23, 1942 he was married in Churubusco to Betty Claxton, and the couple lived most of their adult lives in Noble County.
He was engaged in farming in Green Township during his working years.

Allene P. Long, 90, formerly of Columbia City, died Friday, Oct. 24, 2014, at Licking County Memorial Hospital in Newark, Ohio.
She was born, July 28, 1924, in Warsaw, the daughter of Fred and Mildred (Wright) Cole.
She spent most of her life in Kosciusko, Noble and Whitley counties and graduated from North Webster High School.
On April 26, 1942, she was united in marriage to Joe E. Long and they were married 71 years.

Dorothy Elizabeth Federspiel-Tinney, 91, of Fort Wayne, went home in peace Tuesday, Oct. 21, 2014, at her home.
She was born to the late Louis and Lillian Jones, March 26, 1923, in Louisville, Ky.
She is survived by her daughter, Carol (Russell) Lahr; sons Andy (Chris) Federspiel and Ernest Federspiel; step-daughters Suzanne Shelton, Laura Barnes and Carolyn Runyan, step-son David Tinney; brother Kenneth Jones, several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Lavinia A. Croy-Robinson, 84, of Fort Wayne, passed away at 6:37 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 21, 2014.
Born Aug. 16, 1930, in Kentucky, she was the daughter of Doc and Maude (Stamper) Fletcher.
She moved from Kentucky to the Whitley County area at the age of 10. She attended Collins School, and on April 21, 1948, she married Albert Croy in Huntertown. Soon after in 1950, they moved their family to Fort Wayne.

Kenneth Parke, 59

Kenneth Jay Parke, Sr., 59, a resident of Big Lake, died at 10:31 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 21, 2014, at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne. He had been in declining health.
He was born July 26, 1955, in Fort Wayne, a son of James and Virginia (Hawk) Parke. His formative years were spent in Fort Wayne. He attended South Side High School.
On Dec. 29, 1973, he entered the U.S. Marine Corp. He was honorably discharged May 28, 1978.
On July 29, 1978, he was united in marriage to Cathy M. Thompson. They made their home in Fort Wayne. In 1989, they moved to Big Lake.

Erma Caley, 90

Erma L. (Spear) Eagleson Caley, 90, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 21, 2014, at Lutheran Life Villages in Kendallville.
Born in Columbia City, Erma was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was the owner of Caley Canvas for six years.
Erma loved music, playing the organ, fishing, golfing, photography and genealogy. She loved her family and cherished her grandchildren. She was a member of St. Joseph United Methodist Church.

Bessie Callison, 75

Bessie M. Callison, 75, of Albion, passed away at 8:37 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 21, 2014, at Peabody Retirement Center, North Manchester.
Born April 3, 1939, in Fort Wayne, she was the daughter of Wilbert and Henrietta (Boschet) Ferrell.
She attended Columbia City High School and worked at Ten Pin Restaurant in Columbia City. It was there where she met her husband. On Oct. 16, 1976, she married Erville “Duke” Callison in Columbia City.

Viola J. DeHabey, 95, went to be with the Lord, Friday, Oct. 17, 2014.
Viola had been a resident at St. Anne Home and Retirement Community since 2005. Born in Toledo, OH, Viola was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed hosting family and friends at her house where she could cook for them.
She also enjoyed going to the Barr Street and South Side Markets for years. She was a lifetime member of Faith Missionary Church.
