Marilyn McKinney, 73

Marilyn J. McKinney, 73, formerly of Albion, passed away at 2:21 p.m. Friday, Sept. 5, 2014.
Born July 7, 1941 in Kokomo, she was the daughter of Charles L. and Vivian F. (Willis) Baker.
Survivors include four daughters, four sons, three brothers, two sisters, a sister-in-law, a friend, 33 grandchildren and 48 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; Charles L. and Vivian F. (Willis) Baker, husband, William R. McKinney; son, William R. McKinney Jr.; sister, Wanda M. Baker; and brother, Seth L. Baker.

Dorcas Pressler, 81

Aug. 22, 1933 — Sept. 12, 2014
Dorcas J. Pressler, 81, a resident of Churubusco and widow of Donald “Tod” Pressler, passed away at 1:54 a.m. Friday, Sept. 12, 2014, at Lutheran Life Villages Pine Valley in Fort Wayne, following an extended illness.
Mrs. Pressler was born Aug. 22, 1933, in Noble County, a daughter of Ted and Carnie (Herron) Pippenger. She spent her formative years on the family farm.
On July 16, 1949, she was married in Merriam to Donald J. “Tod” Pressler, and had lived in the Churubusco area all of her adult life.

Charles Hill

Charles Hill, formerly of South Bend, passed Sept. 9, 2014, at The Oaks Nursing Home in Columbia City.
He is survived by his daughter, Janice (Robert) Barkley of Loon Lake, Columbia City.
A celebration of his life will be at their home Sunday, Sept. 21, from 1 to 4 p.m.

Sarah Anne Foote Salas, 54, passed away in her sleep, July 24, 2014, in Cicero, Ill. She was born in Churubusco at Blue Lake.
She is survived by sons, Roberto and Carlos (Rebecca) Salas; one grand-daughter, Izellah Salas; and her brother, Mark (Darlene) Foote, of South Whitley.
Sarah was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Foote and Rosalie Foote Tuttle, her sisters, Rosalie Foote Twaits and Caroline, and brothers, Kim and Victor Foote.

Inez Loutzenhiser, 90

Inez Pauline Loutzenhiser, 90, of Columbia City, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 9, 2014, at Heritage of Huntington.
Born July 20, 1924, in Jefferson Township, she was the daughter of Albert A. and Ruth A. (Gardner) Loutzenhiser.
She graduated from Jefferson Center High School with the Class of 1943. She had moved to Fort Wayne in the late 1950s to be near her employment and after retiring, she moved back to Columbia City in 1989.

Melvin Martel Mance, 81

June 21, 1933 — Sept. 1, 2014
Melvin Martel Mance, 81, of Columbia City, passed away at his home at 10 p.m. Monday, Sept. 1, 2014.
He was born June 21, 1933, in Evanston, Ill., to Stonewall and Anna Mae (White) Mance.
Melvin lost both of his parents while in his early teens but, with the guidance of his sister, brothers and uncle, he was able to stay in Evanston and graduate from Evanston Township High School in 1951.

Mary Wilkinson, 86

Mary Elaine Wilkinson, 86, of Columbia City, passed away at 11:27 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 7, 2014, at Parkview Whitley Hospital.
Born Nov. 26, 1927, in Fort Wayne, she was the daughter of Edward O. Sr. and Mary L. (Jackson) Bowser.
She graduated from North Side High School with the Class of 1946.
On June 1, 1947 she married Robert C. Wilkinson and they moved from Fort Wayne to Columbia City in 1954. In 1986, she moved to Florida before moving back to Columbia City in September of 2013.

Carl “Butch” Gipson, 74

Carl Lee “Butch” Gipson, 74, of Rome City, died Thursday, Sept. 4, 2014, at 4:30 a.m. in his residence.
A gathering of family and friends will be held Sunday, Sept. 28 from 1 to 4 p.m. in the American Legion, Post 381, 611 Kelly St., Rome City.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to Parkview Noble Hospice.

James Feit, 71

James Feit, 71, of Indianapolis, formerly of Columbia City, passed away Thursday, Sept. 4, 2014, at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne.
Mr. Feit was born Feb. 4, 1943, in Huntington, to Ralph W. and M. Helen (VanOrdall) Feit. His parents preceded him in death.
He married Jane (Meengs) Feit in 1967. They recently celebrated their 47th wedding anniversary. She survives and lives in Indianapolis.

Barbara L. Paris, 59, of Columbia City, passed away at 6:23 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2014, at her home on Tri-Lakes surrounded by her loving family.
Born March 10, 1955, in Noble County, she was the daughter of Roger F. and Marilyn J. (Shepard) Fry.
She was a lifetime resident of Whitley County, graduating from Columbia City Joint High School with the Class of 1973.
