Marianne Demaree Wolf Clark, 81, passed away Friday, April 25, 2014, at Brookdale Senior Living, Indianapolis.
She was born in Fort Wayne, on April 11, 1933, the daughter of Mandel â€śRedâ€ť Winefer and Muriel â€śPegâ€ť Beard.
She has spent most of her lifetime in the Fort Wayne and Columbia City areas, Â graduating from Northside High School with the Class of 1950.
Jack Albert Hatfield, 78, of Greenville, died Saturday evening, April 19, 2014, at Spectrum Health Butterworth Campus in Grand Rapids.
He was born Sept. 24, 1935, in Spokane, Wash., the son of Richard and Edna Hatfield.
Jack sold automobiles for most of his career, coming to Greenville to work for Barney Everett and later working at Vitoâ€™s and Jeff Branch motor sales.
He was an active volunteer, and especially liked volunteering for the food bank.
He served in the U.S. Army National Guard, and enjoyed fishing and hunting.
Sue Carroll Anderson, 74, of Columbia City, died unexpectedly at Parkview Regional Medical Center Jan. 9, 2014, following a brief illness.
She was born July 9, 1939, in Kentucky, a daughter of Harold and Hazel (Durham) Earle.
Sue enjoyed going to the library, shopping at Goodwill and attending activities at the senior center. She was an artist who drew, and painted using both water colors and oils. Her church affiliation was Trinity Evangelical Presbyterian Church.
M. Eleanor Boggs, 87, of Columbia City, passed away at 10:33 a.m. Sunday, April 20, 2014 at Harbor Assisted Living, Fort Wayne.
Born Sept. 18, 1926, in Cleveland Township, she was the daughter of Milan Q. and Mildred Fern (Betzner) Sivits.
She has spent most of her life in Whitley County. She graduated as the valedictorian of South Whitley High School with the Class of 1944, and in 1947 graduated from International Business College.
Wayman E. â€śWayneâ€ť Lee, 74, a resident of South Whitley, died at 5:50 p.m., Friday, April 18, 2014, at Parkview Whitley Hospital.
He was born May 15, 1939, in Webster Springs, W.V.; the son of the late Charles and Vertie (Gregory) Lee.
Ray Mullins, 71, of rural Columbia City, died at 10:10 p.m. Saturday, April 19, 2014, at Parkview Whitley Hospital, where he was admitted April 3, 2014.
He was born June 28, 1942, in Gage, Ky., a son of Tom and Reva (Jackson) Mullins. His formative years were spent in Breathitt County. In 1962 he moved to Columbia City.
A retiree of Fibre Form, he was a member of New Hope Wesleyan Church.
Jerry J Zorger, 78, of Columbia City, IN passed away at 12:20 a.m. Saturday, April 19, 2014, at his home.
Born Aug. 30, 1935, in Allen County, he was the son of Dewey Zorger and Bessie (Stouder) Zorger.
He has lived in Allen and Whitley Counties, and since 1959 at present farm in Thorncreek Township.
Michael Ray Werstler, of Larwill, passed away at 5:40 a.m. on Wednesday, April 16, 2014, at his residence at the age of 63.
He was a lifetime resident of Whitley County, and a 1968 graduate of Pierceton High School, Pierceton.
He attended college at United Electronic Institute in Grand Rapids, Mich., receiving his associate degree in electronics in 1970.
On Jan. 13, 1971, he was drafted into the U.S. Army and served during the Vietnam Conflict until his honorable discharge in 1973.
Eudora Marcella (Ellis) Blanchard, 93, of Southport, formerly of Fort Wayne, died Tuesday, April 15, 2014, at her home.
Born on Dec. 8, 1920, in Marshall County, she was the daughter of John Linus and Mary Jane (Atha) Ellis.
She graduated in 1938 as salutatorian from Tippecanoe High School. Her class was the first in Indiana required to earn a four-year degree for elementary education majors when she graduated in 1942 from Central Normal College in Danville. She had been a member of Delta Sigma Kappa sorority, Iota Chapter since college.
Robert Stangland, 89, of Columbia City, passed away at 1:12 p.m. Sunday, April 13, 2014, and reunited with his wife, Waundean who passed away this past September.
A life-long resident of Whitley County, Bob was born Feb. 21, 1925, in Jefferson Township, he was the son of James and Grace (Mohn) Stangland.
