Carl E. â€śHubâ€ť Wilkinson, 75, of Goshen, passed away at 11:10 p.m. Tuesday, May 10, 2011 at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Mishawaka. He was born Dec. 30, 1935 in Syracuse to Roy and Katie (Bitner) Wilkinson. He was a United States Army veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Avis Wilkinson; two sons, Brian Wilkinson and Darren Wilkinson; and a sister, Marlene Pollock.
Mary Fern Prucinsky, 72, of Albion, passed away at 4:28 p.m. Tuesday, May 10, 2011 at Lutheran Hospital of Indiana, Fort Wayne. Born Feb. 25, 1939 in Fort Wayne, she was a daughter of Daniel Hobart and Selma (Anderson) Wolfe.
Gary Lee Cofer, 76, passed away Sunday morning, May 8, 2011, at his home in Bent Tree Harbor Development near Warsaw, Missouri. He was born in Buffalo, Mo. Nov. 10, 1934, a son of George and Eileen Cofer.
He was a 1953 graduate of Platte City High School, Platte City, Mo.
Paul Birch, 82, of Columbia City and resident of Naples, Fla. in the winter, passed away at 3:30 a.m. Thursday, March 17, 2011 at his Florida home. Born in Noble County March 21, 1928, he was a son of Lawrence and Lucille (Snell) Birch.
Patricia E. Spencer, 72, of Milwaukie, Ore. passed away June 9, 2010. Born April 26, 1938 in Washington, D.C. she was a daughter of Irvin Swander and Elizabeth (Daubin) Hartman.
As a young girl, she lived with her grandparents, Irvin and Hallie Hartman, on Hartman Road in Whitley County and moved to Coronado, Calif. She graduated from Bethesda Chevy Chase High School. On Oct. 26, 1956 she married James L. Chandler. On May 27, 1978 she married Lansing Mark Spencer.
For 25 years, she owned and operated her own business, Pat Spencer Tax Service.
Martha Jean (Ramp) Blessing, 81, died Saturday, April 30, 2011 at Golden Living Center Brandywine in Greenfield.
Born Feb. 22, 1930 in Columbia City, she was a daughter of the late Ira and Eva R. (Johnson) Ramp.
Survivors include three daughters, Janet Shanahan, Pam Galen and Julie Cain; a sister, Nancy Stamper; and two brothers, Richard Ramp and Bill Ramp.
Graveside services were held May 4 at McCray Cemetery in Wilkinson, Ind.
Rosetta B. Mercer, 90, a resident of Fort Wayne and widow of Rex P. Mercer, died at 9:34 a.m. Sunday, May 8, 2011 at Visiting Nurse & Hospice Home in Fort Wayne.
She was born in Hartford City Nov. 4, 1920, a daughter of William B. F. and Isabell (Emery) Boothby.
The surviving relatives include her daughters, Rosalie Adams, Ruth Mercer and Rita White; a daughter-in-law, Joan Mercer of Big Lake; two special daughters, Marilyn Nickelson of Fort Wayne and Priscilla Scott of Marion.
Lowell A. Schaefer, 55, a native of Fort Wayne and formerly of Boulder, Colo., passed away at 9:20 p.m. Friday, May 6, 2011 at Regency Place in Fort Wayne.
He was born in Fort Wayne May 10, 1955, a son of Marvin F. and Mildred (Gerbers) Schaefer.
The surviving relatives include a son Evan Michael Schaefer of Boulder; his siblings, Linda Schaefer, Leroy Schaefer, Larry Schaefer, Leona Schaefer and Loren Schaefer.
Betty A. Faylor, 89, of Columbia City, died at 10:20 a.m. Saturday, May 7, 2011 at Peabody Retirement Community, North Manchester where she had been a resident since April 2010.
She was born Nov. 2, 1921 in Aboite Township, Allen County a daughter of Carl L. and Hazel M. (Truman) Klaehn. She completed her education at Central High School in Fort Wayne.
Dean L. Ayers, 92, a long-time resident of Churubusco, passed away at 10:16 p.m. Thursday, May 5, 2011, surrounded by his loving family.
Ayers was born in Lowell June 1, 1918, a son of Arthur and Carrie (Hathaway) Ayers, and as a child moved to Roanoke with his parents and two brothers.
On April 18, 1944 he was married to Helen Prible. The couple lived in Fort Wayne briefly, prior to moving to Blue Lake near Churubusco in 1946. Later, the couple purchased a small farm southwest of Churubusco.
