Lois N. Mote, age 89, of Columbia City, IN passed away at 8:53 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 31, 2010 at The Oaks, Columbia City. Born April 16, 1921 in Laud, Jefferson Township, she was a daughter of Otto and Dessie (Roberts) Ward.
Robert Allen Reed, 69, of Laketon formerly of South Whitley, died at 8:45 a.m. Monday, Nov. 1, 2010 at the Peabody Home, North Manchester where he had been a resident for the past seven weeks.
He was born July 30, 1941 in South Whitley a son of Donel Frederick and Annabella (Hartsough) Reed. His formative years were spent in South Whitley where he attended elementary school and then graduated from South Whitley High School.
On Oct. 21, 1964 he entered the U.S. Marine Corp. He served in Vietnam.
On Oct. 21, 1967, he received his honorable discharge.
Shirley Kerr-Kruger, 78 of Santa Rosa, Calif., died Oct. 24, 2010 at her home.
Born Nov. 7, 1932 in Columbia City, she was a daughter of the late Arley and Gladys Kerr.
Survivors include eight children and one brother, Tom Kerr of Hobart.
Services were held at Santa Rosa Memorial Park in California.

Hulda L. Duncan, 88, a resident of rural Churubusco and widow of Earnest A. Duncan, passed away at 4:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 31, 2010, at the Provena Sacred Heart Home in Avilla. She had been in declining health for the past seven years.
Mrs. Duncan was born Jan. 29, 1922 in Fort Wayne, a daughter of William and Freida (Linnemeier) Kruse, and spent her formative years on the family farm in Washington Township.

James “Jim” Leroy Shelmadine Sr., 72, of Fort Wayne, passed away Sunday, Oct. 24, 2010 in Lawton, Okla. Born Aug. 14, 1938 in Columbia City, he was a son of Ray and Ruth (Underwood) Shelmadine.
He entered service with the United States Marine Corps Aug. 31, 1955 at Fort Wayne, and was honorably discharged Aug. 28, 1959 at Patuxent River, Md. Jim traveled Thailand, Japan and other countries as a cross country prisoner chaser. He then transferred to the Ninth Marine Corps Reserve and Recruitment District. Jim received the Good Conduct Medal.
Clarence A. Bodas, 73, of Fort Wayne, died at 11:35 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 27, 2010 at his home.
He was born Aug. 4, 1937 in Gilbert, Minn. a son of Arthur W. and Turna (Harju) Bodas. A U.S. Navy veteran, he was married to the late Gerry L. (Conley) Clark.
Surviving relatives include four stepchildren, Diane Ryman, Cindy Simmons, David Clark and Douglas Clark; three sisters, Irene Ishmael, Sandra Wells and Connie Bodas; and two brothers, Gerald Bodas and Jack Bodas.

Marcella “Marci” (Morris) Mullins, 65 passed away Sunday, October 24, 2010 at Riverbend Healthcare in Fort Wayne. She was born in Newport, Ky. on Jan. 21, 1945 to the late Dan and Rosie (McIntosh) Morris and lived in Jackson, Ky. and Columbia City before moving to Fort Wayne.
Tamara Mae “Tammy” Geiger, 45, of Fort Wayne passed away at 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 23, 2010 at the Hospice Home, Fort Wayne. She was the daughter of George L. and Eva Mae (Simpson) Geiger.
She is survived by her father; sister, Gail L. Estabrook; and grandmother, Wilma Simpson.
Visitation will be from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Thursday at DeMoney-Grimes Countryside Park Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City, with funeral service following at 2:30 p.m. Pastor Scott Pattison will officiate.

Agnes I. Hartman, 84, a former resident of Merriam and more recently of Fort Wayne, passed away at 5:23 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 24, 2010, at Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne following a lengthy illness.
She was born in Merriam, May 3, 1926, to Olen and Mary Shaffer. She accepted Christ and was baptized at Merriam Christian Chapel. Throughout her life, she profoundly affected the lives of many, but did so in a modest and unassuming way.
Peggy Diane Bradley, 52, of Kimmell, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 20, 2010.
Born Jan. 29, 1958, she was a daughter of Billy R. and Julia A. (Hollenbacher) Jackson II.
She was a member of the Women’s Auxiliary of VFW Lodge 4717 in Wolf Lake and the United Methodist Church of Wolf Lake.
