Treva Wolfe, 95

July 27, 2011

Treva Merle Wolfe, 95, of Columbia City, died 11:28 a.m. Monday, July 25, 2011 at her home.
Born Sept. 12, 1915 in Columbia City, she was the daughter of Oscar Earl and Alice Marie (Billman) Julian.
She attended West Ward Elementary School, graduated from Columbia City High School with the Class of 1934 and completed her education with Industrial Management Engineering Training.
On Sept. 14, 1935 she married Lawrence Ernest Wolfe in Columbia City.
A former employee of Blue Bell, Inc., she began working Sept. 1, 1934 and retired in October, 1982 after 48 years of service.

Richard Sack, 90

Richard Frederick Sack, 90, died Saturday, July 23 in Plano, Texas.
He was born Feb. 10, 1921 in Ligonier.
Sack served in the U.S. military during World War II, earning seven Bronze Stars.
He is survived by his wife, Lurene S. Sack; his daughter, Peggy Sue Malloy of Dallas; sister, Yetta Stage Olsen of Ligonier; and his grandchildren.
A funeral service in will be held Thursday, at 2 p.m. at Yeager Funeral Home in Ligonier with Pastor Stanley Wilson officiating.
Calling is from noon to 2 p.m. prior to the funeral service.

Melvin J. Hinrichs, 44

FORT WAYNE — Melvin J. Hinrichs, 44, a resident of Fort Wayne, died 12:42 a.m. Sunday, July 24, 2011, at St. Joe Hospital.
He was born July 14, 1967 in Whitley County, to James and Pam (Wilson) Hinrichs.
Surviving relatives include his mother; three children; two brothers, Kent A. and Matthew D. Hinrichs both of Huntington; a sister, Daylene Acthsion of Ossian; Several nieces and nephews and one grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his father, James Hinrichs, April 4, 2006.

Jerry Holloway, 70

COLUMBIA CITY — Jerry L. Holloway, 70, of Columbia City, died at 2:15 p.m. Monday, July 25, 2011 at Miller’s Merry Manor where he had been a resident for the past two weeks.
He was born March 27, 1941 in Portland, Ind. to the late John D. and Lucy D. (Powers) Holloway.
In 1947, the family moved to Columbia City. He graduated from Columbia City High School in 1959.
On Oct. 5, 1963 he was united in marriage to Sonja S. Alford. They made their home in Columbia City.
He started his work career with Thomson’s Whitley County Motor Sales where he became the parts manager with 26 years service.

Thomas Bruns, 71

Thomas Bruns, 71, passed away Saturday, July 16, 2011 at his residence in Columbia City.
He was born March 19, 1940 in Fort Wayne.
He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in the VietNam War.
Thomas worked as a tool and die maker with W. S. Shamban, which is now Trelleborg Sealing Solutions for 45 years, retiring in 2005.
He was a member of the HOBO CB Club and his handle was #59.

George Rentovich, 81

COLUMBIA CITY — George R. Rentovich, 81, a resident of Jefferson Township since 1990, died at 11:40 p.m. Friday, July 22, 2011 in his home.
He was born Dec. 12, 1929 in Detroit to George and Anna Lesifko Rentovich.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Tara L. Toland Rentovich, who died June 5, 2009.
There will be no visitation or services.

Jack Hoag, 90

COLUMBIA CITY — JACK R. HOAG, 90, a former resident of Yakima, Wash. died at 6:10 a.m. Monday, July 25, 2011 at Markle Health and Rehabilitation where he had been a resident since June 2010.
He was born Nov. 14, 1920 in Iowa to Otto and Bernice Hoag.
Surviving relatives include a son, Jerry Hoag, and a daughter, Jacqueline Williamson, both of Columbia City.
There will be no visitation or services.

Churubusco — Elaine Carol Krider, 64, a resident of Churubusco, died at 12:50 a.m. Saturday, July 23, 2011, at the Visiting Nurse & Hospice Home in Fort Wayne.
She was born Nov. 20, 1946 in Decatur to Marcus and Marcella (Gehres) Reidenbach.
On July 24, 1971 she married David R. Krider in Monroeville.

Betty Lou Long, 82

Betty Lou (Beasley) Long, 82, of 1307 E. Market Street, Warsaw, passed away Thursday, July 21, 2011 at 7:20 p.m. in Kosciusko Community Hospital’s emergency room.
She was born Feb. 8, 1929 in Whitley County to Ralph Dedrofth Beasley and Icy May (Loe) Beasley.
She was married on July 1, 1950 to Charles Long, Jr. “Longie” who preceded her in death April 18, 2006.
Betty was a homemaker and a resident of Kosciusko County since 1950.

Michael Adair, 45

Michael Adair, 45, of Kimmell, died at 2:21 p.m. Wednesday, July 20, 2011 at Indiana University Hospital in Indianapolis.
He was born April 13, 1966 to Richard and Carolyn (Conkling) Adair in Havelock, N.C.
Surviving are his parents, Richard and Carolyn Adair of Cromwell; two siblings, Michelle Adair of Cromwell and Matthew Adair of Albion; his grandfather, Burlyn Conkling of Cromwell; four nephews and one niece.
A funeral service will be held Saturday at 3 p.m. at Yeager Funeral Home with Rev. Richard Rensner officiating. Burial will be in Sparta Cemetery in Kimmell.
