Julia Corinne Bain, 67, of Columbia City, passed away at 2:40 p.m. Tuesday, March 22, 2011 at Parkview Whitley Hospital, Columbia City. Born Jan. 23, 1944 in Fort Wayne, she was a daughter of Carl F. and Dorothy E. (Conner) Hess.
Kurt Matthew Rigsby, Jr., 18, of South Whitley, passed away Monday, March 21, 2011 at St. Vincentâ€™s Hospital, Indianapolis. Born Feb. 1, 1993 in Fort Wayne, he was a son of Amanda Marie (Fett) and Kurt M. Rigsby, Sr.
Deloris M. Gaff, 85, a resident of rural Churubusco and widow of Herman L. Gaff, passed away at 12:46 p.m. Tuesday, March 22, 2011, at Lutheran Hospital after suffering from apparent congestive heart failure. She had been hospitalized since Friday.
Mrs. Gaff was born Sept. 6, 1925 in Kosciusko County, a daughter of Charles and Flossie Ellen (Johnson) Leiter. She spent her formative years on the family farm near Sidney, and graduated from Sidney High School in 1943.
Paul Birch, 82, of Columbia City, and a winter resident of Naples, Fla., passed away at 3:30 a.m. Thursday, March 17, 2011 at his residence.
Among survivors are his wife, Karin Birch of Columbia City; two children, Rebecca Yann and Ethan Birch; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Marilynne J. Ramp, 88, of New Haven, went to be with the Lord Monday, March 21, 2011 at Parkview Hospital.
She was born July 21, 1922 in Larwill, a daughter of John L. and Edythe J. (Whiteleather) Menzie. Her formative years were spent in Larwill and she graduated from Larwill High School.
Dawn Rene Phelps, 51, of Warsaw, died at 5:15 p.m. March 19, 2011 at Elkhart General Hospital in Elkhart.
Born Nov. 6, 1959, she was a daughter of Don and Judith (Phend) Parkison.
Besides her mother, survivors include her husband, Rick Phelps; seven children, Melissa Leamon, Joseph Phelps, Trina VanDusen, Shannon Nellans, Cheryl Phelps and twins Denver and Bailey Phelps; a brother, Rory Parkison; and four sisters, Laurel Padilla, Dana Brown, Tuesday Halsey and Cheryl Clark.
Rosalie H. Armstrong, 74, a resident of Columbia City, died Sunday evening, March 20, 2011 in the Lutheran Hospital where she had been a patient since Friday.
She was born Oct. 8, 1936 in Miami County, Ohio, near Troy, a daughter of Paul and Mildred Brown Williams. Her formative years were spent on the family dairy farm and she graduated from the Miami Central High School. She received her undergraduate degree from Indiana Central College and her masters degree in business from Ball State University.
Norma L. Mauzy, 77, formerly of Lake Township, Allen County, died Saturday evening, March 19, 2011 at Covington Manor where she had been a resident since October 2009.
She was born May 9, 1933 in Kosciusko County, a daughter of Lennel R. and Hazel (Hunter) Weimer. Her formative years were spent in Noble County. She graduated from North Webster High School.
On April 5, 1952 she was united in marriage to Leonard E. Mauzy. They made their home in Kosciusko County until December 1958 when they moved to Lake Township, Allen County.
John C. Bishop, 73, a lifelong resident of South Whitley, died at 2:06 a.m. Friday, March 18, 2011 at Parkview Whitley Hospital, Columbia City where he was admitted on Wednesday.
He was born March 19, 1937 in South Whitley a son of Clair C. and Georgia Doris (Rubrake) Bishop. He graduated from South Whitley High School in 1955.
From December 1956 until December 1961 he served in the United States Army.
On March 18, 1961 he was united in marriage to Marilyn K. Boxell.
He was employed at Manchester Tool & Die for 35 years.
Nora Jane Bair, 90, a former resident of Green Township in Noble County, passed away at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, March 17, 2011, at North Ridge Village Nursing Home in Albion following an extended illness.
Ms. Bair was born Feb. 8, 1921 in Noble County, a daughter of Ebony E. and Ada (Haney) Bair. A 1939 graduate of Churubusco High School, she graduated from business college in Fort Wayne, and spent all of her life on the family farm in Green Township.
