Mary Jane McLaughlin, 94, formerly of Union Township, died Saturday, March 26, 2011 in Kalamazoo, Mich.
She was born Sept. 7, 1916 in Fayette Township, Hillsdale County, Mich., a daughter of James Harvey and Mayme (Bird) Price. Her formative years were spent in the Jonesville area. She graduated from Jonesville High School.
Bradley Joseph Haugen, 36, of Fort Wayne, died at 4:03 a.m. Saturday, March 26, 2011 at Parkview North Hospital.
He was born Feb. 4, 1975 in Greenfield, a son of James Allen and Darleen K. (Nahrwold) Haugen. From 1975 until 1981 he resided in New Haven and from 1981 until 1991 he resided in Portland, Ore.
In 1991 he moved to Columbia City until moving to the Bethesda Lutheran Ministry Home in Fort Wayne a year ago. He graduated from Huntington North High School.
He had been employed at Passages and later Anthony Wayne Services in Fort Wayne.
Rex E. Grable, 82, of rural Columbia City, died at 2:10 p.m. Saturday, March 26, 2011 at his home.
He was born Jan. 23, 1929 in Churubusco, a son of Clarence T. and Bertha O. (Meyers) Grable. At the age of four, his family moved to Columbia City. He graduated from Columbia City High School in 1947.
On Aug. 3, 1947 he was united in marriage to Eleanor J. Tanner. They made their home in Columbia City until 1988 when they moved to Troy Cedar Lake. Since October 2010 they have made their home east of Columbia City.
Katharine A. â€śKayâ€ť Lembright, R.N., 92, of Columbia City, died Saturday, March 26, 2011 at The Oaks Nursing facility, where she had been a resident for two weeks. She was born Aug. 10, 1918 to Arthur and Eva Marie (Koons) Lembright, Sr., in Alliance, Stark Co., Ohio.
Wesley L. Smith, 25, a Columbia City native, died Thursday, March 24, 2011.
He was born Nov. 27, 1985 in Fort Wayne, a son of Duane A. and Diana E. (Clark) Smith. His formative years were spent in rural Columbia City. He graduated from Columbia City High School in 2004.
He joined the United States Army where he served in Iraq, Indianapolis and most recently El Paso, Texas.
On Feb. 26, 2010 he was united in marriage to Caroline M. Cripe.
In January, he began his employment at Micropulse.
Geraldine â€śJeriâ€ť Robinette, 87, of Columbia City, died early Wednesday morning, March 23, 2011 in Naples, Fla.
She was born June 24, 1923 in Wabash County, a daughter of George W. and Marie (Grimm) Garrison. At the age of six, her family moved to Huntington County. She graduated from Bippus High School. In 1942 she moved to Fort Wayne.
On June 22, 1946 she was united in marriage to Joe A. Auker. They made their home in South Whitley. Dr. Auker died Feb. 1, 1979.
She assisted her husband in the operations of J.A. Auker Veterinary Hospital for nearly 30 years.
Helen J. Heinley, 94, of rural Columbia City died at 6:50 p.m. Wednesday, March 23, 2011 at The Oaks, Columbia City where she had been a resident since August 2010.
She was born Oct. 27, 1916 in Thorncreek Township, a daughter of the late Jesse and Florence (Miller) Jackson. Her formative years were spent in Thorncreek Township. She graduated from Washington Center High School and then International Business College, Fort Wayne.
Following her graduation, she took a job with a stock brokerage firm in Fort Wayne.
Anthony Edward Martelli 33, of Columbia City passed away unexpectedly Monday March 21, 2011 at his home.
He was born in Holyoke, Mass. Sept. 18, 1977 to Neil and Linda (Monroe) Martelli.
Surviving family include his fiancĂ©e, Tanya Boehly, son, Julian Anthony; mother, Linda Martelli; father, Neil Martelli; sisters: Traci Connors, Victoria Makuch, Nicole Martelli and Angelina Moran.

Joyce Joan Lindemann Nestel, 83, of South Whitley passed away at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 23, 2011 at her home. Born Oct. 28, 1927 in Wells County, she was a daughter of Ralph J. and Juanita (Shady) Lindemann.
Thelma J. Leitch, 101, a resident of Churubusco and widow of long-time Churubusco businessman Daniel Devoyd Leitch, passed away at 8:45 p.m. Tuesday, March 22, 2011, at her home following a lengthy illness.
Mrs. Leitch was born in Avilla July 4, 1909, a daughter of Thomas and Ethel (Owen) Cramer, and spent her formative years in that area. On Nov. 14, 1924 she was married to Daniel Devoyd Leitch, and spent all of her adult life in Churubusco.
