Mary L. Barnes, 90, formerly of rural Columbia City, died at 10:40 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 12, 2010 at Parkview Main, Fort Wayne.
She was born April 29, 1920 in Wheatland, a daughter of Daniel and Daisy (Perigo) Gallagher. She spent her formative years in Union Twp., Whitley County and graduated from Coesse High School.
From 1962-1972, she was employed by Sears, Fort Wayne and then L.S. Ayres until 1980 when she joined Hudson‚Äôs/Marshall Fields until her retirement in 1995.
Joseph Derheimer, 95

Joseph Carl Derheimer, 95, passed away Sunday, Dec. 12, 2010 at his home.
Born on Easter Sunday, April 4, 1914 in Fort Wayne, he was the son of Joseph and Flora Derheimer.
He worked at International Harvester Co. for 43 years. He worked on the team that established the VIN system for cars and trucks in the world.
He was an artist and loved painting. He volunteered and taught watercolor painting at the Senior Center and for the park board for many years.
Kathryn Pequignot, 93

Kathryn Margreat Pequignot, 93, of rural Fort Wayne, died at 10:55 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 12, 2010 at Renaissance Village where she had been a resident since 2004.
She was born Feb. 9, 1917 in Berne, a daughter of Peter and Della (Kuehm) Miller. Her formative years were spent in Aboite Township, Allen County where she completed her education.
On April 24, 1937 she was united in marriage to Lenord H. Pequignot. They made their home in Coesse, Dunfee and later rural Fort Wayne. Mr. Pequignot preceded her in death on April 2, 2003.
Stewart Trulock, 92

Stewart (Stu) Weldon Trulock, 92, passed away Friday, Dec. 10 in his home in Columbia City surrounded by family. He was born Feb. 2, 1918 in Austin. He graduated from South Side High School in 1936.
He worked his entire life in men‚Äôs retail, working for many noted companies, Wolf & Dessauer‚Äės, Richman Bros., Morrel‚Äôs Men‚Äôs Wear, and Patterson & Fletchers. He purchased Morrel‚Äôs Men‚Äôs Wear in 1962 and renamed it Trulock‚Äôs Men‚Äôs Wear and owned and operated it until 1974. He completed his retail career at L.S. Ayres & Co. in 1982.

Born Oct. 22, 1987 in Columbia City, she was the daughter of Larry Lynn and Tawnya Lynn (Sexton) Jackson.

Emery Harold Schilling, 103, of Columbia City, passed away at 4:30 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 9, 2010 at Peabody Retirement Center, North Manchester.
Born June 15, 1907 in Chester Township, Wabash County, he was the son of Mathias and Ida (Leonhardt) Schilling.
Phyllis E. Mitchell, 88, of Columbia City, passed away at 7:55 a.m., Tuesday, Dec. 7, 2010 at her home. Born Sept. 29, 1922 in Columbia City, she was a daughter of Victor and Hazlette (Brubaker) Phend.
Jimmy Kipp Blake, 23 of rural Decatur, passed away as the result of a single car accident Saturday, Dec. 4, 2010. He was born Aug. 30, 1987 in Allen County to Cary J. and Amy E. (Geiger) Blake.
Kipp was a member of Pleasant Dale Church of the Brethren in rural Decatur. He was an employee at Dolco Packaging. Kipp was a 2006 graduate of Adams Central High School and was attending IPFW in Fort Wayne.
Robert Briggs Estlick, 94, a former resident of Columbia City, died at 9 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 1, 2010 in Edina, Minn.
He was born April 1, 1916 in Troy Township, a son of Neil T. and Blanche M. Estlick. His formative years were spent in Troy Township. He was educated in the Etna Troy School, graduated from Columbia City High School in 1934 and from Indiana University in 1939 with a degree in business.
Donald Laurel ‚ÄúSmiley‚ÄĚ Reed, 91, of Columbia City, passed away at 12:20 p.m. Friday, Dec. 3, 2010, at The Oaks, Columbia City. Born Aug. 27, 1919 in Logansport, he was a son of Homer L. and Ruth (Twells) Reed.
