Ralph Taylor, 83

February 23, 2011

Ralph E. Taylor Sr., 83, passed away Thursday, Feb. 17, 2011 at Miller’s Merry Manor. Born in Fort Wayne, he was a self-employed contractor. He was a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles.
He is survived by his daughters, Janet (Jeff) Emmons of Fort Wayne, Judine (Richard Pressman) Pressman of San Antonio, Texas; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; brother, Phillip Taylor of Fort Wayne; and daughter-in-law, Cheryl Taylor.
He was preceded in death by his son, Ralph E. Taylor, Jr. May 11, 2009.

Brian Wiggs, 31

Brian N. Wiggs, 31, of Warsaw passed away at 7:31 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 20, 2011 from injuries received in an automobile accident in Elkhart County. He was born Aug. 12, 1979 in Columbia City to Steven J. and LuAnn B. (Bond) Wiggs.
Besides his parents, survivors include two sons, Blake and Parker Wiggs; a sister, Christine Whirledge; and three brothers, Daniel Wiggs, Arthur Wiggs and Nicholas Wiggs.

A.A. Clark, 82

A.A. “Lon” Clark, 82, of Columbia City, passed away at 10:40 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 17, 2011 at The Oaks, Columbia City. Born April 7, 1928 in Rensselaer, Jasper County, he was a son of Roy E. and Dorothy M. (Johnson) Clark.
He served in the United States Army from 1946-1954, including World War II and the Korean War. He married Masayo “Debbie” Clark.
Survivors include his daughters, Melissa Hile and Marsha Dockery; and a brother, John Clark.
At Mr. Clark’s request there will be no visitation or service.

Marguerite Hill, 98

Marguerite Hill, 98, of Springfield, Ohio passed away Feb. 18, 2011 at Ohio Masonic Home in Springfield. She was born Oct. 5, 1912 in Norwalk, Ohio to Howard and Valla (Evans) Tillson. She married Harry Hill April 10, 1955 in Angola, and he preceded her in death May 4, 1995.
She was a homemaker, and a 1931 graduate of Norwalk High School.
Marguerite is survived by her daughters Aleta McHenry of Punxsutawney, Pa., Barbara (Ronald) Mears-Begue of Columbia City, Louanna Delf of N.C.; nine grandchildren and numerous great- and great-great grandchildren.

Teresa Trainer, 49

Teresa Jo Trainer, 49, of Waterford, Miss. and formerly of Thorncreek Township, Whitley County, died Thursday, Feb. 17, 2011 from injuries sustained in a two-vehicle accident west of Churubusco.
She was born Oct. 25, 1961 in Fort Wayne, a daughter of Bryce B. and Linda M. (Doan) Elkins Sr. Her formative years were spent in Fort Wayne and later Columbia City. She graduated from Columbia City Joint High School.
On Aug. 25, 1984 she was united in marriage to Douglas M. Trainer. They made their home in Thorncreek Township until November 2009 when they moved to Waterford.

Arthur Ramsey, 75

Arthur L. Ramsey, 75, a resident of Blue Lake near Churubusco and well-known area businessman, passed away at 7:05 a.m. Friday, Feb. 18, 2011, at Kingston Care Center in Fort Wayne. He had been in declining health for some time and had entered the nursing home in January.
Mr. Ramsey was born in Fort Wayne March 25, 1935, a son of Amos Edward and Hilda Erma (Gomoll) Ramsey, and spent his formative years there. As a young man he served with the U.S. Navy, and was married Dec. 15, 1956 to Marilyn M. Myers. The couple lived in Fort Wayne for a period until moving to Churubusco in 1966.

Connie Lewis, 69

Connie J. Lewis, 69, of Greenfield, passed away Feb. 16, 2011 at Hancock Regional Hospital in Greenfield.
She was born April 2, 1941 in Marion County, a daughter of the late Max and Guinevere (Collingwood) Lewis.
Survivors include a sister, Marcia Ann Cole and a brother, Steve Lewis.
Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Condo and Son Funeral Home in Wilkinson with Danny Cury officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home from 9 to 11 a.m. prior to service. Burial will follow at McCray Cemetery in Wilkinson.

Paul Johnson, 73

Paul L. Johnson, 73, of Albion, died Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2011 at Goshen General Hospital in Goshen, after being ill for the past five months.
He was born Jan. 15, 1938 in Noble County to the late Lyman and Edna (Firestone) Johnson. He was a lifetime resident of Noble County.
On Nov. 16, 1958 at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Albion, he married Rhonda Tucker. She survives in Albion.
Mr. Johnson was a Corrections Officer for Chain O’ Lakes and retired from there after 17 years of service. He was a veteran of the United States Army and a member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church.

Leonard Williams, 77

Leonard P. “Lenny” Williams, 77, of Columbia City, passed away at 8:25 p.m., Monday, Feb. 14, 2011 at his residence. Born June 16, 1933 in Clinton, Ohio, he was a son of Charles E. and Margaret E. (Carr) Williams.
He lived in Carrollton, Ohio until 1956 and Fort Wayne from 1956-1993 before moving to Columbia City. He graduated from Clinton High School with the Class of 1951, Clinton, Ohio and attended Indiana Tech.

Deborah K. Killian, 54, of Columbia City, passed away at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2011 at her residence on Crooked Lake. Born July 19, 1956 in Lebanon, Ind., she was a daughter of William E. Zollars and Ruth A. (Greeson) Remley.
