Jennifer Rinehart Black, 61, of Fort Wayne, died Monday in Parkview Memorial Hospital.
She was born in New Castle Aug. 13, 1949, a daughter of L. Dean and Elaine (Wyatt) Rinehart.
Survivors include her husband of 34 years, John Black, executive director of the United Way of Whitley County; a daughter, Laura Black; her mother, Elaine Rinehart; and a brother, Brad Rinehart.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Culberson Funeral Home, Hagerstown with Rev. Ray Armstrong officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Cambridge City. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Friday.
Mildred Pauline Harreld, 95, a former resident of Ege and more recently of Snellville, Ga., passed away at 8:24 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 19, 2010 at Golden Living-Medical Arts in Lawrenceville, Ga.
She was born June 3, 1915 in Marion, a daughter of Paul and Mildred (Smith) Dooley. She is a widow of Albert M. Harreld.
The surviving relatives include her daughters, Alberta Sams and Arlene Owens; and two brothers, Merrill Dean Dooley and Melvin â€śMickâ€ť Dooley.
Martha Jean Wallace, 88, a resident of Fort Wayne and widow of Herbert Wallace, passed away at 11:10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 18, 2010, at St. Joseph Hospital in Fort Wayne.
She was born Sept. 5, 1922 in Bluffton, a daughter of John and Joeanna (Burdg) Mendenhall.
The surviving relatives include her children, Bonnie Arnold and Peggy Heredia, David C. Wallace, Sr. and Coleen Driscoll.
Robert D. Studebaker, 58, of Columbia City, died at 4:41 p.m. Monday, Oct. 18, 2010 at Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne where he was admitted Oct. 6.
He was born Feb. 3, 1952 in Whitley County, a son of Homer Junior and Maxine (Kite) Studebaker. His formative years were spent in Union Township. He graduated form Columbia City Joint High School.
In addition to farming, he owned and operated S & H Contracting for 17 years, worked for Geiger Development in Huntington and also Wayne Asphalt in Fort Wayne for over 19 years.
Gloria Joann Kaylor, 79 formerly of Huntington passed away at 6:03 p.m. Monday, Oct. 18, 2010 at Millerâ€™s Merry Manor in Columbia City. She had worked at Wabash Magnetics from November of 1964 until her retirement in April of 1993. She was a member of St. Peterâ€™s Lutheran Church and belonged to the Womenâ€™s Guild. She was an avid bowler. After retirement she enjoyed working for several years at Zahm Greenhouse.
She was born March 14, 1931 in Huntington, a daughter of Clarence and Mary (Spath) Zickafoose.
Ilene E. Baker, 97, a resident of rural Churubusco and widow of James A. â€śMikeâ€ť Baker, passed away peacefully at 11:05 a.m. Monday, Oct. 18, 2010, at her home in Smith Township following an extended illness.
Mrs. Baker was born Dec. 25, 1912 in Smith Township, a daughter of James W. and Ollie (Yates) McGuire. She spent her formative years in the Churubusco-area, and graduated from Churubusco High School in 1930.
Fran Pierce, 78, of Columbia City, died at 4:15 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 17, 2010 at her home.
She was born March 21, 1932 in Arkansas, a daughter of John and Clemmie (Lumpkin) Petty. As a young girl, her family moved to Pendleton, Ind. She graduated from Pendleton High School.
On May 15, 1952 she was united in marriage to Norman N. Pierce. They made their home in Columbia City. Mr. Pierce died March 26, 1988.
She was employed in the guidance and business offices of Columbia City Joint High School, as well as the gift department of Keltsch Pharmacy and later Dorothyâ€™s Hallmark.
Jeffery L. Morris, 53, a resident of rural Churubusco, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, Oct. 17, 2010, at his home.
Mr. Morris was born in Columbia City Sept. 25, 1957, the oldest son of Ronald E. and Marna (Smolek) Morris. He was a lifelong resident of the Churubusco community, and graduated from Churubusco High School in 1976.
For the past 12 years he had been employed at Wal-Mart on Coldwater Road in Fort Wayne.
Robert B. Elliott, Sr., 96, a lifelong resident of Larwill, died at 12:15 a.m. Friday, Oct. 15, 2010 at Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio.
He was born Dec. 13, 1913 in Larwill, a son of Bonnell and Lucy (Marchand) Elliott. He graduated from Larwill High School in 1931.
He operated the Elliott Service Station in Larwill from 1932 until 1981.
On Oct. 28, 1939 he was united in marriage to Esther Reeg. Mrs. Elliott died Aug. 25, 1984.
In Sept. 1943 he enlisted in the United States Army, serving in the European Theater during World War II. He was honorably discharged Jan. 24, 1946.
Barbara S. Long, 60, of rural South Whitley, died at 1:55 p.m. Friday, Oct. 15, 2010 at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne. She had been battling cancer since October 2008.
She was born Nov. 3, 1949 in Fort Wayne, a daughter of Charles C. and Lucille V. (Smith) Fudge. Her formative years were spent in Allen County. She graduated from Churubusco High School and received her Registered Nursing degree from IPFW.
On Nov. 1, 1970 she was united in marriage to Daniel B. Long. They made their home in North Webster for a year before moving to their home southwest of South Whitley in 1971.
