Steven B. Smethers, 67, passed away Wednesday at his home in Columbia City.
Born in Fort Wayne, Steven was a minister and founder of United Christian Ministries International. Previously he was a contractor-carpenter and member of the Fort Wayne Fire Department.
He enjoyed cooking, woodworking, and spending time at Loon Lake.
Gerald â€śBudâ€ť Leo Hites, 89, of Columbia City formerly of Kenton, Ohio, passed away at his daughterâ€™s residence Friday June 13 at midnight.
He was born April 10, 1925, in Roundhead, Ohio, the son of the late Earl A.
Hites and Bonnie E. Harvey. On Oct. 31, 1948, he married Donna B. Nichols and she passed away in March of 2006.

Santford S. â€śHankâ€ť McClellan Jr., 84, of Churubusco, died at 6:35 a.m. Monday at Kingston Care Center in Fort Wayne where he had been admitted Sunday, June 1.
He was born June 9, 1930, in Darke County, OH, a son of Santford S. and Rozella (Bugby) McClellan.
As a young boy, his family moved to Muncie. At the age of 12, his family moved to Deerfield and later Cromwell and finally Merriam. He graduated from Wolf Lake High School.

Elizabeth Westine Wilson, 93, of Churubusco, formerly of Michigantown, passed away Sunday, at her daughterâ€™s home.
She was born July 14, 1920, in Tipton County, the daughter of Guy and Elsie Kepler Newton.
Westine married Clayton Donald Wilson Aug. 17, 1968. He preceded her in death Feb. 26, 2007.
Gladys Irene Hayner passed away Wednesday, June 11 in Columbia City, where she had lived the past six years at Oak Pointe.
Gladys is preceded in death by her husband and best friend, Lester D. â€śBudâ€ť Hayner.
Bud and Gladys were married 61 years prior to his death in 2008. A mother and homemaker, she lived most of her life in Fort Wayne. Retirement years found them living at Lake Wawasee where they loved to share their home with family and friends.

John Graber, 64, of rural South Whitley, passed away Friday, June 13, 2014, at his home surrounded by his loving family.
He was born April 5, 1950, in Grabill, a son of Andrew and Anna (Lengacher) Graber.
On June 13, 1968, he married Kanoshia Schmucker. They moved to South Whitley in 1971 where they have since made their home. Around 1990 they established Graber Greenhouse.

Ruth C. Early, 90, of Huntington, passed away at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 12, 2014, at Signature Health Care.
Ruth was a 1942 graduate of Huntington Township High School. She worked at Essex from 1962 through 1973 and was a member of the New Life Fellowship Church.
Ruth was born Dec. 27, 1923, in Huntington, a daughter of Andrew and Elsie (Seeley) Petersen.

Steven C. Lehman, 57, of Fort Wayne, passed away Thursday, June 12, 2014, at Visiting Nurse Hospice Home in Fort Wayne.
He was born Feb. 1, 1957, in Wurzburg, Germany. He was a son of Charles E. and Bernadine A (Furthmiller) Lehman. He graduated from Columbia City Joint High School in 1975.
He was employed at Lincoln Financial for 35 years.
He is survived by his wife, Mary; mother, Bernadine Lehman; sisters, Dorothy (Thomas) Pugh; Katharine (Mark) Busz; brother, Michael (Linda) Lehman; and several nieces and nephews.

Bonnie L. Wolfe, 82, of Churubusco, passed away Wednesday, June 11, 2014, at Parkview Regional Medical Center.
Born July 14, 1931, in Bloomington, Ill., she was the daughter of Arvil â€śDocâ€ť and Goldie Mae (Snare) Laymon.
She was a graduate of Andrews High School. On Nov. 17, 1976 she married Verlin â€śBudâ€ť Wolfe.
She worked at General Electric, Alfran Nursing Home and The Oaks, Churubusco High School in 1976, and she was a devoted housewife. She enjoyed traveling, camping, cooking and baking.

Yolanda Ruyle, 85, of Columbia City, died at 7:23 a.m. Tuesday, June 10, 2014, at Parkview Oaks where she had been a resident since April 2014.
She was born Dec. 24, 1928, in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, a daughter of Nazzareno and Rosina (Cococetta) Milioni. She graduated from Detroit East Commerce High School and Baptist Bible College.
A U.S. Navy Reserve veteran, she served during the Korean War.
