Daniel C. Krider, 61

Daniel C. Krider, 61, a lifelong resident of Collins, died at 5:14 a.m. Friday, Feb. 6, 2015 at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne. He had battled cancer for nine years.
He was born Jan. 13, 1954 in Luckey Hospital in Wolf Lake, one of 13 children of Clyde LeRoy and Juanita J. (Friend) Krider Sr. He graduated from Churubusco High School.
In addition to grain and hog farming, he retired from Local Laborers Union #213 and CCI.
On March 27, 1999 he was united in marriage to Stephanie D. (Arick) Moore.

Pat Leon Bowman, 86

Pat Leon Bowman, 86, of Columbia City, passed away peacefully at his residence at 5:30 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2015. Born March 17, 1928 in Noble County, he was the son of Don and Lottie Lucile (Smyser) Bowman.
Pat grew up on Smalley Lake, Washington Township, Noble County and attended Wolf Lake and graduated from Columbia City High School with the Class of 1946. He played baseball in high school and was drafted by the St. Louis Brown Baseball team, but developed the “Tommy John Arm” a torn tendon in his elbow and had to resign.

Mary J. Stampe, 100

Mary Juanita Stampe, 100, of Columbia City, died at 3:32 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 5, 2015 at Miller’s Merry Manor where she was admitted Jan. 24.
She was born Aug. 8, 1914 in Oxford Junction, Iowa, a daughter of Samuel Harrison and Pearl Olive (Eye) Woll. At the age of four, her family moved to Spragueville, Iowa. She graduated from Preston High School in 1931 and completed nurses training.

John P. St. George, 72

John P. St. George, 72, passed away Feb. 3, 2015.
He was born in Fall River, Mass. and currently resided in Fort Wayne.
He worked at Dana Weatherhead and attended Queen of Angels Catholic church.
Surviving relatives include his son, John (Tammy) St. George; daughter, Cathy Ross; seven grandchildren; and dear friend, Rolland Bishop.
There will be no visitation or funeral services. A private memorial will be held at a later date.

Phyllis Ann Lyons, 80

Phyllis Ann (Huff) Lyons, 80, passed away at 1:30 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2015 at her apartment at Tipton Place, Huntington. She was under hospice care at the time of her death.
She was born Aug. 27, 1934 near Ipava, Ill., a daughter of Russell and Wanda (Lawver) Huff. Raised on the family farm, Phyllis was a graduate of Vermont-Ipava-Table Grove High School near Vermont, Ill.

Clarence E. “Jiggs” Lehman, 83, of Larwill, died at home, Sunday, Feb. 1, 2015. Born Feb. 9, 1931 in Whitley County, he was the son of George D. Lehman and Maude M. (Helblig) Lehman.

Ruth Ann Trumbull, 75

Ruth Ann Trumbull, 75, of Fort Wayne and formerly of Columbia City, passed away at 9:17 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2015 at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne after a sudden illness. Born Dec. 18, 1939 in Kimmel, she was the daughter of Chris Henry and Dorothy Bernice (Ringler) Lehman.

Dennis L. Jennings, 61

Dennis L. Jennings, 61, of Forest, Va. went home to be with his beloved Savior and Lord Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2015. Born April 30, 1953, in Warsaw, he was raised by his mother, the late Bonnie Baxter, and grandparents Dale and Ruth Jennings.
Dennis earned his Ph.D. from Stanford University, where he met Susan, his best friend and wife of 35 years. After two years as a professor at NYU, he transitioned to a successful 20-year career as a telecom marketing executive.

Gail Franklin Evans, 91, died Jan. 29, 2015 at Good Samaritan Hospice at Heritage Valley Hospital, Beaver, Pa.
Born in Columbia City, Aug. 31, 1923, he was the son of the late Fred Linville Evans and Grace (Shafer) Evans.
He was a graduate of Columbia City High School in 1941 and a graduate of Findlay College, Ohio in 1950.

Wilford O. Young, 77

Wilford O. Young, 77, formerly of Columbia City, passed away at 9:15 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 31, 2015 at Peabody Retirement Center, North Manchester.
Born June 27, 1937 in Noble County, he was the son of Wilford J. and Mable (Hontz) Young. He lived in Noble County before moving to Whitley County in 1991. He graduated from Wolf Lake High School with the Class of 1955.
