Marie Thornburg, 89, passed away Wednesday, March 26, 2014, in Fort Wayne.
Born in New Haven, Marie worked with Magnavox for eight years, retiring in 1988.
She was a member of St. Michael Lutheran Church and the Adams and Allen County Geneology Society.

Ranae Garber, 54

March 25, 2014

Ranae Sue (Curtis) Garber, 54, of Pierceton, passed away at 9:30 a.m. Friday, March 21, 2014, on the first full day of spring. She was surrounded by her loving family and passed away after a six-month battle with melanoma.
She was born in Warsaw to Gale and Sue (Utter) Curtis on April 27, 1959.
On June 28, 1980, she married Frank D. Garber Jr, who survives.

James Staples, 82

James L. Staples, 82, of Columbia City, died at 4:30 a.m. Friday, March 21, 2014, at his home.
He was born May 21, 1931, in Columbia City, a son of Aileen Staples. He completed his education at Columbia City High School.
On Oct. 24, 1953. he was united in marriage to Ida Mae Mitchell. They made their home in Columbia City and then Chicago for 20 years before returning to Columbia City in 1973. Mrs. Staples died March 20, 2008.
He was employed at Illinois Central Railroad, Santa Fe Railroad, Safety-Kleen Corporation and Essex Wire.

Dr. Daniel Cummiskey, 52

Dr. Daniel J. Cummiskey, 52, passed away Friday, March 21, 2014, at his home in Fort Wayne.
Daniel was born in Ann Arbor, Mich., Daniel was orthopedic surgeon with Parkview Physcians Group for four years.
Daniel served in the U.S. Army and was a member of Sigma Chi Fraternity; the Fort Wayne Track Club, and the Starbucks Coffee Club with all of his friends.

Richard Klopfenstein, 85

Richard A. Klopfenstein, 85, of Columbia City, died at 6:27 p.m. Wednesday, March 19, 2014, at Parkview Whitley Hospital where he was admitted Tuesday, March 11, 2014.
He was born Nov. 25, 1928, in Fort Wayne, a son of Lester and Elizabeth (Schneider) Klopfenstein.
As a young boy, his family moved to Thorncreek Township from Leo. He completed his education at Columbia City High School.
On June 24, 1950, he was united in marriage to Ruth J. Geyer.
They made their home in Thorncreek Township until 1954 when they moved into Columbia City.

Luella Louise Myers, 83, of Columbia City, died at 8:23 a.m. Sunday, March 16, 2014, at Parkview Oaks where she had been a resident since July 2011.
She was born May 2, 1930 in Fort Wayne, a daughter of Wilbert M. and Louise F. (Heinig) Luderman.
Her formative years were spent in Thorncreek Township, Whitley County and she graduated from Columbia City High School in 1948.
On October 28, 1961, she was united in marriage to Claude Vloris “Bud” Myers.

Kimberly Nussbaum, 57

Kimberly Lynn Nussbaum, 57, Columbia City, Ind., passed away on Thursday, March 13, 2014, at Parkview Regional Hospital in Fort Wayne.
She was born on Jan 9, 1957 in Nelsonville, Ohio to Don and Tresa (Morrison) Burris, who preceded her in death. She married Roger Gross, who died on July 4, 1993. On March 4, 1994, she married Steve Nussbaum, who died on April 26, 2004. She is survived by her companion, Dan Chivington.

Gary King, 58

Gary King, age 58, of Columbia City passed away Saturday, March 15, 2014, at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne. Born July 4, 1955 in Columbia City, he was the son of Roderick A. and Dorothy A. (Coffelt) King.
Gary enjoyed nature in general and loved being outdoors. He loved all animals and always had a dog nearby. To Gary every dog was Cocoa. He was a connoisseur of watches and also of piggybanks to collect all of his change.
Gary was an organ donor and gave the gift of life to others.

Karen Estlick Sangillo, 72, died Thursday, March 13 at her home in Columbia City.
She was born on Sept. 19, 1941 in Columbia City to Robert and Natalie (Hoover) Estlick. She was baptized at Columbia City United Methodist Church. Her formative years were spent in Columbia City, where she graduated in 1959 from Columbia City High School. She attended Ball State College and Indiana University and graduated from International Business College in Fort Wayne.
