Doris E. Fenker Pittenger, 92, a lifelong resident of Columbia Township, died at 10:07 a.m. Saturday, May 4, 2013, at Parkview Whitley Hospital where she was admitted on Friday.
She was born April 19, 1921, in Columbia Township a daughter of Elmer Franklin and Dessie Bell (Smith) Schrader. She attended the Schrader School House and graduated from Coesse High School.
On June 8, 1941, she was united in marriage to Edward C. Fenker. Mr. Fenker died July 28, 1996.

Anthony L. “Tony” Leedy, 59, a native of Etna Troy Township, passed away peacefully among family and friends, May 1, 2013, at Hospice by the Sea in Boca Raton, Fla.
A beloved son of Kenneth R. Leedy and Lona M. (Gaff) Leedy, he was born Nov. 6, 1953, in Wolf Lake.
He attended school at Etna-Troy Grade School, Columbia City High School and Ball State University, where he was a brother of the fraternity Lambda Chi Alpha.

Thomas E. Papenbrock, Sr., 74, a resident of Churubusco, passed away at 12:08 a.m. Tuesday, April 30, 2013, at his home.
Mr. Papenbrock was born March 18, 1939, in Churubusco, a son of Ervin H. and Mary E. (Nestel) Papenbrock.
On September 19, 1982 he was married in Kentucky to Dianne (Wallace) Manns. She survives.
Surviving relatives include his wife, Dianne (Wallace) Manns; two sons; a step-daughter; two stepsons; two brothers; two sisters; 23 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.

Kathy L. Greenawalt, 53, a resident of rural Churubusco in Noble County, passed away at 10:40 a.m. Sunday, April 28, 2013, at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne.
Mrs. Greenawalt was born Feb. 14, 1960 in Conneaut, Ohio, a daughter of Gerald and Deanna (Campbell) Braden, and spent her formative years in Knox.
Marjorie K. Brown, 77, of Fort Wayne, died at 10:28 p.m. Sunday, April 28, 2013, at Summit City Nursing & Rehabilitation where she had been a resident since 1995.
She was born May 23, 1935, in Peru, a daughter of William R. and Esther N. (Biggs) Yaney.
Her formative years spent in Columbia City. She graduated from Columbia City Joint High School and attended Hanover College. She graduated from Indiana University with a Bachelor degree in Elementary Education and was a member of Phi Mu.
Donna L. Polk, 81, of Columbia City, died at 7:05 a.m. Monday, April 29, 2013, at her home.
She was born Sept. 24, 1931, in Kokomo, a daughter of Samuel and Margurite (Lanning) Johnson.
Her formative years were spent in Greentown. She graduated from Greentown High School, attended Marion College and received her LPN certification from Indiana University Kokomo.
Barbara Lou Hursey, 79, of Columbia City, passed away at 3:42 p.m. Monday, April 29, 2013, at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne.
Born on March 11, 1934, at her grandmother’s home in Allen County, she was the daughter of Raymond and Pauline Marie (Schwalm) Brumbaugh.
She was a lifetime resident of Whitley County and graduated from Churubusco High School with the Class of 1952.
Dorothy Grace Bristow, 92, a resident of South Whitley, died at 1:20 p.m. Monday, April 29, 2013, at her home.
She was born Aug. 3, 1920, in Washington Township a daughter of the late William F. and Flora P. (Grace) Terman. Her formative years were spent in Washington Township. She graduated from Washington Center High School in 1938.

Charlotte Christine “Chris” Paulus, 62, of Columbia City, passed away at 11:16 a.m. on Saturday, April 27, 2013, at her residence. Born on April 7, 1951, in Huntington, she was the daughter of William Charles Kelsey and Vivian Charlotte (Bodey) Stotts.
Charlotte grew up in Huntington and moved to Whitley County in 1967. She graduated from Columbia City Joint High School with the Class of 1970. Chris attended the Practical Nursing Program with the Class of 1977, receiving her LPN., and later received an associate degree in applied science-nursing and obtained her RN in 1991.

Rodney Bell Davenport, 89, of Warsaw, passed away at 9:45 p.m. Wednesday, April 24, 2013 in his Irish Lake home, surrounded by his family.
Rodney was born Nov. 24, 1923, in Los Angeles, and was the youngest child of Fred and Muriel (White) Davenport’s three children.
