Rosemary Wheeler, 86, of rural Columbia City, died at 8:25 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 11, 2015 at Adams Memorial Hospital in Decatur.
She was born Sept. 10, 1928, in Fort Wayne, a daughter of Merritt Wilbert and Ruth (Growcock) Crowell. Her formative years were spent in Jefferson Township. She graduated in 1946 from Jefferson Center High School.

Rosemary Morehead, 88

Rosemary Morehead, 88, of Topeka, Kan. passed away Saturday, Jan. 10, 2015, at Stormont-Vail Hospital.
Rosemary was born June 17, 1926, in Columbia City, the daughter of Charles and Freeda (Smith) Adang. She loved Columbia City and might have remained there forever had a friend not introduced her to Glenn C. Morehead, a young soldier from Topeka, Kan., who was in town for an Army reunion.

Roberta Mae Pritchard, 79, of Columbia City, passed away at 10:21 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 11, 2015 at her home. Born July 8, 1935 in Noble County, she was the daughter of Albert and Margaret M. (Stewart) Birch.
Roberta lived in Noble County until she married Jack E. Pritchard Sept. 15, 1953. She lived in Whitley County from then on. She graduated from Wolf Lake High School with the Class of 1953. Roberta was a faithful and devoted member at Blue River Church of the Brethren. She loved spending time with her family and enjoyed collecting bells and books.

Theodore “Ted” J. Grable, 87

Theodore “Ted” J. Grable, 87, of Columbia City, went to be with his Lord at 2:10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 8, 2015 at Parkview Whitley Hospital.
Born Oct. 7, 1927 in Churubusco, he was the son of Clarence T. and Bertha O. (Myers) Grable. Ted graduated from Columbia City High School with the Class of 1945.
On May 18, 1946 he married Betty Lou Souder. He served 20 years with the U.S. Navy and over 17 years at the Naval Medical Data Service Center in Bethesda, Md. before retiring.

Duane M. Barth, 68

Duane M. Barth, 68, a resident of rural Columbia City, passed away at 1:03 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2015 at Parkview Whitley Hospital in Columbia City. He had been in declining health for the past two years.
He was born July 5, 1946 in Fort Wayne, a son of Robert and Margaret (Downend) Barth. He spent his formative years at Blue Lake near Churubusco, and graduated from Churubusco High School in 1964.

E. Jane Gradeless, 91, of Roanoke and formerly rural Columbia City, died at 6:46 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 8, 2015 at Visiting Nurse and Hospice Home, Fort Wayne.
She was born March 22, 1923 in Thorncreek Township, a daughter of B. Frank and M. Ruth (Ott) Bitting. Her formative years were spent in Thorncreek Township. She graduated from Columbia City High School in 1941.
In 1943 she began working for Whitley County REMC until 1962.

John E. Pletcher, 68, of Columbia City, passed away at 6:15 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2015 at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne.
Born Sept. 15, 1946 in Wolf Lake, he was the son of John J. and Betty (Lehman) Pletcher.
He graduated from Columbia City Joint High School with the Class of 1965. Following graduation, John served in the Indiana Air National Guard.

Craig Alan Potter, 51

Craig Alan Potter, 51, of Columbia City, formerly of Grand Rapids, Mich. passed away suddenly from an automotive accident on Saturday, Jan. 3, 2015 near Mansfield, Ohio.
He was born to James N. and January J. (Schut) Potter Sept. 21, 1963 in Grand Rapids, Mich.
Craig was truck driver for many year most recently for the Wel Company. When Craig had some down time he thoroughly enjoyed Karaoke, and was quick to point out that if you didn’t like his singing, then you didn’t know good music. He also liked to hunt and fish when the time permitted.

Maurie L. Hahn, 70

Maurie L. Hahn, 70, of Fort Wayne, passed away at 4:45 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2015 at his home. Born March 1, 1944, he was the son of Scott and Irene (Bruns) Hahn.
He graduated from Concordia Lutheran High School with the class of 1962 and July 27, 1963, he married Regina Shull. Maurie was a member of Aboite Lutheran Church in Fort Wayne.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Regina Hahn; children, Greg (Carrie) Hahn, of Holland, Ohio, Melanie Hahn, of Fort Wayne and Paul (Ruby) Hahn, of Columbia City; and grandchildren, Lucas, Olivia and Lawson Hahn.

Glen E. “Sam” Kelsey, 82, of Columbia City, died at 6:45 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2015 at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne.
He was born Jan. 13, 1932 in Jefferson Township, a son of Paul David and Dorothy E. (Oliver) Kelsey. At the age of three, his family moved to Cleveland Township. He graduated from South Whitley High School in 1950.
On Oct. 6, 1952 he enlisted in the United States Army, serving during the Korean War. He was honorably discharged Aug. 27, 1954.
