Senior night comes with heartbreaker

   COLUMBIA CITY — Not only did the Columbia City Lady Eagles face a heartbreaking five-game loss to East Noble Thursday night, but six senior Lady Eagles walked off the court for one of the final times at Donald S. Weeks Gymnasium.
   “We fought hard, they just fought a little harder,” Lady Eagles head coach Trish Hinen said.

Col. City, Whitko out in sectional opener

   FORT WAYNE — A windy afternoon greeted area boys’ tennis teams as they opened the postseason Thursday.
   The weather wasn’t the only thing both Columbia City and Whitko had to battle in the Homestead sectional, however.
   Both facing a state-ranked opponent, the tennis season ended for Whitley County squads with 5-0 losses.
