A good season doesn’t go unnoticed in Whitley County.
One of the best combined seasons ever within the three area high schools hasn’t gone without recognition.
A 30-6 mark from Columbia City, Churubusco and Whitko football squads made for an exciting season within the county lines.
With so much success, state caliber players are sure to be included in the dozens of victories.
COLUMBIA CITY — Saturday wasn’t the ideal way Columbia City (5-2) girls’ basketball wanted to start the Northeast Hoosier Conference.
Hosting Carroll (3-4), the Lady Eagles saw a close contest get away from them in the second half. With neither team seeing more than a five-point lead all game, a 4-for-19 second half shooting slump by Columbia City helped the Lady Chargers pick up a win on the road 52-46.
SOUTH WHITLEY — As any coach and its a whole other season within a season.
Saturday marked the start of the new season for Whitko (3-4) girls’ basketball. If the Three Rivers Conference opener was any indication, the Lady Wildcats are on track for big things amongst the conference’s best.
