SYRACUSE — Columbia City and Whitko volleyball teams traveled to Wawasee Saturday and each loaded the bus with opposite outcomes for the day.
The Lady Eagles had a victorious day, leaving the tournament 2-1 and championship runner-up.
Whitko on the other hand, was unable to pull out a win for the day at 0-3.
Columbia City and Whitko kicked off the day with a match against each other.
PIERCETON — The beginning of the postseason Saturday was the end of the season for Whitley County girls’ golf teams.
Battling the rough and unforgiving links of Stonehenge Golf Club, Columbia City and Whitko were unable to advance anyone to the regional round.
The Lady Eagles had three seniors bring their careers to an end. Olivia Western led them with round of 101.
Western was only five strokes off of the last individual score to make it out of the sectional round.
LIGONIER — A large and talented field met local cross county teams at the West Noble Invitational Saturday.
With the likes of the No. 7 hosting Lady Chargers and No. 20 West Noble boys’ squad, a stacked field had Columbia City and Whitko both posting high finishes.
The No. 22 Lady Eagles had its freshman-senior combination of Samantha Roush and Renee Menzie put them in third out of 24 teams.
