COLUMBIA CITY — Something had to give. It was either going to be Columbia City’s string of Homecoming wins or New Haven’s undefeated record. In the marquee match up in the Northeast Hoosier Conference, two surprising teams brought solid records into Friday night’s contest at Max Gandy Athletic Field.
LIGONIER — The North East Corner Conference is no longer sleeping on West Noble. Neither is Churubusco.
After seeing the Chargers dispatch conference power Fairfield 35-28 two weeks ago, the class 1A No. 3 Eagles made sure they didn’t fall victim to the same sleeper in the NECC beating West Noble on its homecoming night 47-0.
WABASH–– After four Three Rivers Conference games, Whitko continued to hold onto its undefeated record in the TRC Friday night taking out the Northfield Norsemen, and improving their record to 5-1 overall.
The ‘Cats continued to rely on their defense to hold Northfield to only two touchdowns and Whitko quarterback Alex Stoddard led the offense to five touchdowns on the night, with a final score of 35-14.
Whitko’s offense set the pace for the game, bringing in two first-quarter touchdowns.
