NORWELL – Whitko volleyball’s season ended Thursday night as it lost its opening sectional match in three straight games to Eastbrook, 25-8, 25-13, 25-16.
Eastbrook’s Lauren Heeter took advantage of the Lady Wildcats slow start, going on a five-point serving run to make the game one score 7-2.

BERNE — The Churubusco Lady Eagles made the long trip to South Adams to face the hosting Lady Starfires in the opening round of the IHSAA 2A Sectional 36.
The Lady Eagles season came to an end as Churubusco fell to the Starfires in a marathon five-game match.

FORT WAYNE — Columbia City got a late-night rematch with North Side in the first round of sectionals at Carroll on Thursday.
The Lady Eagles faced the Lady Redskins in their first game of the season, losing in five games.
Columbia City returned the favor, winning in five games in a game which didn’t end until nearly 11 p.m.
After winning the first two games, the Lady Eagles found themselves in a fifth game after a two-game North Side rally. Columbia City won the fifth game 17-15 to advance to the sectional semi-final Saturday.
