Col. City tennis handed season-ending loss

CULVER — Columbia City tennis’ history-making season ended Tuesday night in the first round of regionals.
The Eagles faced Ply-mouth, which has racked up 15 straight sectional titles, at Culver Academies.
Though Columbia City lost as a team, No. 1 singles Derek Hinen won his match, advancing to the next round in the singles tournament.

Churubusco controls Lakeland in three games

LAGRANGE — The measure of a team is not always how they play when faced with a team that is better than they are, but rather how they play when competing against a team that is not playing at their level.
That was the challenge that the Churubusco Lady Eagles had Tuesday night when they traveled to Lagrange to square off against the Lakeland Lady Lakers in a Northeast Corner Conference match.
The Lady Eagles were able to maintain their focus and came away with a win in three straight games.
