FORT WAYNE — The Columbia City Lady Eagles basketball team snapped a three-game losing streak Friday night at North Side.
The Lady Eagles won decisively, 59-44, after falling to Snider, Marion and Leo.
Columbia City jumped out to a 11-0 lead to start the game and held the Lady Redskins to a slim two points in the first quarter off a pair of free throws (19-2).
Macie Hinen got four of her eight points in the last two minutes of the first quarter.
Senior Sidney Bunyan scored four of Columbia City’s 11 second quarter points against North Side.
Lady Eagle basketball moved to 2-4 Friday, hosting and defeating Eastside, 47-32.
It was ‘Busco’s first win in three games.
Aggressive play by the defense set the tone early in the game.
The Lady Blazers managed just two field goal attempts in the first quarter; in the opening three minutes of the game and the second attempt was not made until there were two seconds left in the period.
However, it was not the quickest start for the Lady Eagles offense either.
