Churubusco wrestling tops Columbia City

COLUMBIA CITY — Churubusco took home the Whitley County Eagles’ traveling trophy Wednesday night after defeating Columbia City, 42-31.
“We figured it’d be a good meet tonight and it was,” Churubusco Head Coach Sam Riesen said. “It’s always an exciting match-up against Columbia City. We figured it’d be another good one tonight and it was.”
The trophy was introduced this season and according to Churubusco Head Coach Sam Riesen, the gold Eagle will travel between the schools.
“They definitely deserve it,” Columbia City Head Coach Blane Culp said. “They out-wrestled us.”
