DENVER â€” Whitkoâ€™s girls basketball team won its Three Rivers Conference opener at North Miami Saturday night, 64-29.
After a rough patch in their schedule (Elkhart Memorial, Northrop and Warsaw), the Lady Wildcats opened conference play with a decisive win.
â€śWe knew going in this was going to be a big game for us to see where we were mentally after playing those tough teams,â€ť Whitko Head Coach Brandon Bradley said.
FORT WAYNE â€” After keeping Carroll from taking the lead throughout the entire regulation, the Columbia City Lady Eagles found themselves playing in overtime Saturday night in the Northeast Hoosier Conference opener.
The Lady Chargers hit a 3-pointer with 3.3 seconds left on the clock to tie the game at 37 and force an extra four minutes of play.
The Lady Eagles held on to win the game, 41-38, off free throws by Sarah Opliger and Sidney Bunyan.
Bunyan led the team in scoring with nine points and also chipped in a block, steal and assist.
