AKRON — The Columbia City swim team defeated Tippecanoe Valley decisively Thursday night in Akron.
The boys team won 129-49 and the Lady Eagles were victorious 121-46.
Both teams took first place in all 22 swimming events.
Devin Moore won the 100-yard butterfly in a close race.
“We called it a David and Goliath meeting because the other guy was so much taller than him,” Columbia City Head Coach Kristen Swonger said.
Moore’s Viking competitor got off to a quick start, taking the lead for the first 50 yards.
But Moore out-swam Tippecanoe Valley in the final strech for the win.
