Carroll ekes by Col. City for NHC title

   FORT WAYNE — For the second time in five days the Columbia City boys and girls track squads traveled to Carroll High School.
   Tuesday night the Eagle boys and girls competed in the Northeast Hoosier Conference track meet.

’Busco holds second after day 1 of NECC

ANGOLA — Tuesday’s opening round of the North East Corner Conference track and field meet had its share of fast times and long distances that landed Churubusco in second-place heading into Friday’s finals at Angola High School.

Eagles bounce back, notch 5th NHC win

   KENDALLVILLE — A day after its first Northeast Hoosier Conference loss, Columbia City girls’ tennis had no time to dwell.
   Tuesday, the Lady Eagles hit the road for another conference showdown at East Noble.
   Bouncing back, Columbia City picked up a close 3-2 win over the Lady Knights to notch its fifth victory in the NHC.

Slavich, Columbia City take win over Heritage

   FORT WAYNE — The Columbia City baseball team picked up a win on the road Tuesday against Hertiage 9-6.
   Six team doubles led an Eagles offense that scored eight runs over the first three innings of play.

’Busco overcomes early deficit to beat Panthers

   LAGRANGE — Churubusco baseball had a 3-0 deficit facing them after two innings Tuesday at Prairie Heights.
   The Eagles replied scoring at least one run in each of their last five innings at bat to beat the Panthers 9-5.

East Noble hands City first NHC loss

   COLUMBIA CITY — Two of the Northeast Hoosier Conference’s unbeaten softball teams came to a head Monday at Morsches Park for the driver’s seat in the conference title race.
   The defending NHC champion Lady Eagles fell to second in the race for a repeat after a surprise East Noble squad improved to 4-0 with an 8-1 win over Columbia City.

Season low not enough for City

   COLUMBIA CITY — Another season low but another loss.
   Columbia City boys’ golf has hit a new season best total in three of the last four matches.
   However, one win is all the Eagles have been able to gather.
   A make-up dual match against Homestead Monday had more signs of improvement for Columbia City but another loss 163-170 to the Spartans.
