TOPEKA — Churubusco dropped out of the Northeast Corner Conference Tournament Wednesday night with a loss to the 10-1 Westview Warriors.
The Eagles faced Westview in their second game of the season and lost 47-31. Churubusco improved Wednesday night, only losing by an eight-point margin, 38-30.
The Eagles had a 6-5 lead at the end of the first quarter and matched Westview’s scoring in the second at eight to make a 14-13 score at halftime in favor of Churubusco.
The Warriors took over in the third quarter, outscoring ’Busco 15-6 and taking a 28-20 lead going into the fourth quarter.

COLUMBIA CITY — Columbia City’s senior wrestlers competed in the Donald S. Weeks Gymnasium for the last time of their high school careers Wednesday night. The Eagles hosted DeKalb and lost, 46-27.
“I’m really proud of how well the guys competed tonight,” Columbia City Head Coach Blane Culp said. “We were questioning if we were even going to win a match tonight.”
