LIGONIER — Local cross country runners competed in the West Noble Regional Saturday in Ligonier.
While 15 Whitley County harriers entered the regional, only one is advancing to next week’s semi-state meet at New Haven — Columbia City junior Samantha Roush.
Roush placed third in the girls race with a season-best time, 18:52.81.
Roush suffered a preseason injury, and Columbia City Head Coach Bob Fahl said she’s been improving with every meet.
“She was very strong, very focused, very controlled ... very good,” Fahl said.
