SOUTH WHITLEY — Whitko’s softball team grabbed a Three Rivers Conference win Wednesday night against Tippecanoe Valley, 9-1.

Whitko, on the other hand, scored nine runs in the third and fourth innings. Karissa Olinske and Hannah Cokl scored two runs apiece.

Olinske pitched all seven innings with nine strikeouts, one walk and gave up seven hits.
COLUMBIA CITY — You know it’s a tough ballgame when the losing pitcher who strikes out the first eleven batters she faces, only gives up two hits for the game and gets defeated 3-0.
That’s exactly what happened to the Homestead Lady Spartans when they visited the Columbia City Lady Eagles for a Northeast Hoosier Conference softball game on a wet cold Wednesday evening.
The Lady Eagles parlayed a Spartan error and two hits from the bottom of the order and 14 strikeouts from pitcher Cassie Vodde into a 3-0 win.
