SOUTH WHITLEY — Whitko’s softball team won 8-2 over Manchester on senior night Wednesday.
The Lady Wildcats faced a 2-1 deficit after the first inning, but retaliated in the third frame, scoring six runs to take a 7-2 lead.
Hannah Himes scored her second run of the night in the fourth frame for the last run of the night.
Pitcher Karissa Olinske also had two runs.
Whitko’s seniors are Taylor Lott, Karissa Olinske, Audra Day, Lynsi Hicks and Cassie Jones.
The Lady Wildcats are back in action Saturday at Heritage.

CHURUBUSCO — Churubusco’s boys and girls track teams are preparing for the Northeast Corner Conference finals meet Friday in Lakeland.
The Eagles hosted the preliminary meet Tuesday night in Churubusco.
The Monk sisters, Heather and Katie, are leading the shot put with first- and third-place rankings, respectively.
In the boys discus, Austin McClure is seeded first with a substantial 14-foot lead over his closest opponent.
Alex Zolman sits in second in the long jump with a leap of 20-feet 3.5-inches.
COLUMBIA CITY — In The Wizard of Oz, Dorothy clicked the ruby slippers together and repeated “There’s no place like home. There’s no place like home.”
The Columbia City softball team may be saying the same thing after Wednesday’s Northeast Hoosier Conference match-up with the Carroll Chargers.
After several closer, low-scoring road contests, the Lady Eagles returned to Morsches Park to pound out 14 hits, downing the Lady Chargers 12-0 in five innings.
