Whitko baseball downs Col. City

May 11, 2012

COLUMBIA CITY — Despite an impressive 10-run inning by Columbia City, Whitko held on for a 16-13 win over the Eagles on their own field Friday night in Columbia City.

Whitko jumped out to a 13-3 lead at the top of the fourth inning. Fearing the possibility of being beat by the 10-run-rule, Columbia City retaliated with a 10-run fourth frame to tie the score at 13.

But that was the end, as the Eagles didn’t score another run for the final three innings, while Whitko tacked on three more in the high-scoring game.
