OSSIAN â Columbia Cityâs softball teamâs 6-0 win over Norwell Monday night wasnât just another win.
It was the Lady Eagleâs seventh win in the Northeast Hoosier Conference, taking the conference title with an undefeated (7-0) NHC record.
âIâm very proud of our girls for winning conference,â Head Coach Steve Cox said.
Not only was the feat special for the team, but it was especially important for Columbia City pitcher Cassie Vodde, who didnât give up any earned runs in any conference games this season.
âIt was another great game by Cassie Vodde,â Cox said.
COLUMBIA CITY â Columbia Cityâs tennis team hosted and defeated Central Noble Monday in the last match, and final home play of the season.
The Lady Eagles won by a 4-1 score.
âThe win tonight was a great way to finish the regular season,â Columbia City Head Coach Katie Myers said. âIt was also a nice farewell for our two seniors, as they both picked up wins.â
Blake Farber and Lauren Taylor are the teamâs seniors this season.
Farber, along with No. 2 doubles partner Macie Hinen, won 6-1, 6-2.
