Conference champs: Columbia City softball wins Northeast Hoosier conference outright

May 15, 2012

OSSIAN — Columbia City’s softball team’s 6-0 win over Norwell Monday night wasn’t just another win.

It was the Lady Eagle’s seventh win in the Northeast Hoosier Conference, taking the conference title with an undefeated (7-0) NHC record.

“I’m very proud of our girls for winning conference,” Head Coach Steve Cox said.

Not only was the feat special for the team, but it was especially important for Columbia City pitcher Cassie Vodde, who didn’t give up any earned runs in any conference games this season.

“It was another great game by Cassie Vodde,” Cox said.
