HUNTERTOWN — Columbia City’s softball season was cut short Monday night at Carroll.
The Lady Eagles faced Northeast Hoosier Conference foe East Noble (17-10) in the first round of sectionals and lost, 6-2.
After winning the NHC with an undefeated 7-0 record and coming of last season’s strong tournament play — a trip to semi-state — fans, parents, players and coaches were disappointed in the early loss.
The Lady Knights scored six runs before Columbia City got on the board.
Whether it be bad luck or strong play by the Lady Knights, the end result was the same.
