WEST LAFAYETTE — Columbia City’s boys and girls cross country teams both placed ninth at the Purdue Invitational Saturday.
The girls were led by Samantha Roush, who competed in her first meet this season after sitting out for an injury. Roush placed 16th out of 375 runners with a time of 20:05.
Evan Harney led the boys with a 22nd-place finish out of 190 runners with a time of 17:11.
COLUMBIA CITY — Columbia City’s C-Team took a 14-12 victory over Whitko Saturday, after the varsity team won 43-13 over the Wildcats on Friday.
Columbia City jumped out to a 14-6 lead by halftime of Saturday’s contest against Whitko at Max Gandy Athletic Field, then held on to stop two fourth-quarter drives to preserve a 14-12 victory over the Wildcats.
